"Kingdoms have fallen and capitalism has risen from the ashes. This is truly the end of times. Oh, and did I mention that the gods are gone, the world is crawling with all variety of monsters, and that dragons are mortalkind's last hope? No?"
-A summary from a certain steel dragon who would rather like to remain anonymousfor the purposes of not being stabbed.
What makes a DnD game fun? I think that's a question everyone here has had to ask themselves at some point, and it really does vary from person to person. What's really important is that you find a group with the same definition of "fun", so I'm going to avoid what seems to be a common pitfall and state what Uda offers upfront.
1. A high-stakes environment where you can make a difference. You're not just along for the ride- your decisions can end lives or save them, and drastically impact the speed at which you rise up in the world. The story is yours, not mine, and will emerge from the clashes of ideology and steel that Uda is primed to trigger.
2. A robust setting with countless different places to explore, and no set way to explore them. The world's lore is intricate and very relevant, and is accessible in an easy-to-digest format at any time. Check it out here.
3. Fantastic balance, if I do say so myself! There are a host of homebrew mechanics and magic items that add more tactical depth to any situation, and Sorcerers and Monks are buffed. Additionally, I'm never the sort to throw sacks of HP and damage at the players. Each combat is a tactical puzzle, serves a purpose, and has an impact beyond wasting your time.
4. A safe space. ******** won't be tolerated, and villainous characters must be fun for everyone.
5. Scheduling! To be able to actually play the damn game is nearly the most important thing, and between pre-set times and fluid parties, getting a session in is seldom an issue.
To apply, read the world's lore here and add me on Discord (Quazzy#0353). Then, send me the bones of a character concept that meshes well with Uda, and describe why they would be fun to have in a party. It's not a character screening, per se. For the actual game, you're encouraged to use a character you've spent more time on, and one can only put so much effort into an application. Feel free to throw in any questions, too- there's a ton of nuance behind every aspect of Uda, and a single reddit post can't possibly do it all justice.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Played for a few years, DMed for quite a few more. Location/Timezone: PST Schedule: Quite flexible! There are at minimum sessions every Friday at 8 PM PST, but extra sessions happen quite frequently. All sessions are "optional", as the campaign is player-driven. Roles sought: Players. You don't have to be experienced, so long as you bring something fun to the table! Game style: High-stakes political and ideological conflicts often using combat as a medium, but never with giant bags of HP that need to be slogged through. I believe that each combat should be meaningful, and have its own unique set of perameters and conditions to the fight.
i am a 22 year old new player looking to join a D&D group. I have never played D&D and in the process of figuring it out. I like Political Storys and i am intrested.
I am available usally 17:00 CEST on weekdays and all day on sundays.
You can add me on discord if you want to talk in further detail.
