Howdy there, fellow DnD enthusiast! I humbly welcome you to my post! Do make yourself comfortable :D Though, before I dive into the nitty gritty, I ought to give you the courtesy of at least introducing myself, no? Feel free to call me Nate. The pleasure is mine, I assure you. I’m at a solid and sturdy 20 years of age, and have been playing TTRPGs for about 5 of those years? Or 6. Oh boy, after a certain point, time starts becoming an anomaly. Anyway, I've played mostly DnD but I did also indulge in other systems here and there, such as Masks, Warhammer Fantasy, VTM and so on. Though whatever the system is, I adore roleplaying and have been doing it as a hobby even out of official games! It's just something about immersing yourself in a character for hours at a time with friends that helps one get away from the worldly problems for a time. And maybe even working on their own as they explore a fascinating mix of their fantasies as well as spins of their own mind. Strange how such a simple concept can shape someone so much. And bringing people together is what the games are all about, in the end! But where does this lead us? Yes, yes, I’ll get to that. But first, I should adress the dreaded S-word. Scheduling! I'm available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays from 6PM GMT to a reasonable time in the evening, and Saturdays basically the whole day. Hope that's flexible enough...
I am, as you might have guessed, looking for a group to hopefully attune to, spending many a hour forging bonds both in character and out. I consider myself a very laid back and friendly person, so I can mesh with just about anyone! It’s been a while since I played last, so I thought the best way to start up again was to find some cool new peeps to explore a character concept that has been gnawing at my mind for a while, as well as whatever other fantastic creations we come up with as a group! Now as I'm writing this, I probably should organize things so it's a bit easier to manage (Or skip) as necessary. So here's a little bio, if a wall of text is overwhelming. Prooobably shoulda thought of this earlier, but I’m a sucker for exposition. I’m sure you’ll muster enough strength to excuse me for that one :D
Name: Nate, Saitama, or character name is A-okay!
Age: Solid and sturdy twenty!
Experience: A solid 6 or so years of various systems! What is your most and least liked part about D&D (i.e what part you enjoy and what part you don't): Needless to say, I love roleplay, but combat is also very neat, as I am very much a player who thinks outside the box. Hell, I love exploration, too! Pretty much all parts of DnD are awesome unless someone does them poorly. So I guess my least liked part of DnD isn't actually to do with the game itself, but when we are presented with more technical problems, such as scheduling or inconsiderate behaviour.
Playstyle: I am very much a rule of cool type of player, preferring to create awesome narrative moments with my group over just simple number crunching. Although that is very fun in its own way. I like to think outside the box (usually using creative and great feats of strength), to elevate my party and me to glory! Heh, that was cheesy. But it’s true though!
Character concept: Dwarfs are a proud people, and none of them cope well with failure or personal tragedy no matter how small. The loss of a single family member or a hoard of treasures is inconsolable to a Dwarf, a fate that can seriously unhinge their obsessive minds. Eventually these burdens become far to heavy to bear, and a Dwarf would eventually snap, making him forswear the fellowship and comforts of family, clan, and hold, opting instead for a life of self-imposed exile. Having broken ties with everything they once held dear, these Dwarfs leave behind all possessions save for their own axes, embarking on the most dangerous life that there is. The life of a Slayer. A dwarven warrior who has been deeply ashamed, and sees the only way to redeem himself in the eyes of his ancestors (and join their halls) is to die in glorious combat. However, there comes a catch. This dwarf is terribly hard to kill, and even if he ends up fighting a glorious battle, he does not remember any of it. Like a dream overcoming him in his dire frenzy, only to be awoken by a cold breeze and the butchered bits of the beast he's just slain. But perhaps a mighty death is not what he is truly to find in the end...
Can write and work on it way more with you, but I thought it'd fit the setting you presented. If any of this sounds good, feel free to message back! My discord is Saitama#2965 if you'd prefer that. Tootles!
Hello, I am defiantly interested in this and loved your enthusiasm in this paragraph aha! Iv'e been looking for a group to play DnD with for a while as I too love roleplaying and immersive myself into a character. I have been playing DnD for about 4 years on and off so i'm an experienced player. I have added you on discord
