Game: D&D 5e (though if the group wants an earlier version, fine with that, too). Group preferred: Offline / Face-to-face (might set up a cam for an online player or someone who can't make the in-person game, but face-to-face preferred) Experience: DMing since the mid-80s, though with a break between '98 and 2012 Location/Timezone: EST, and playing somewhere in Fairfield County, CT, though if you're in Westchester County near the CT border that's good, too. Really a matter of how far you want to drive. We can share hosting duties and/or look for neutral sites like reserving a table in a public library, an office conference room, or even a restaurant with a private room on occasion. Availability: Looking for 4-5 hour sessions on a weeknight. Something like 6-10 or 7-11 with occasional hops closer to midnight. I'm over 50 and married, so weekends are family time. Preferred role: DM. If the group sticks together long enough, though, everything's flexible. Game style: Long-time homebrew campaign. Lots of lore, so each PC will build a good backstory that blends into the campaign world. Then we'll be doing story arcs (both group and individual). Figure 50-50 RP and combat with an ongoing plot that'll stretch the length of the campaign. We're starting at lvl 1 or 2 (haven't decided yet). If you've got a character already rolled that you want to use, happy to accommodate that, though they'll be ratcheted back to level 1-2, and their backstories will be modified to fit into the world. We'd work that up together, though. I'm supporting all the official class and race rules in all WOTC core and extended content, but have a few races and classes unique to the world as well. If you've got something outside of that, let me know, and as long as I don't deem it OP we'll work it in.
Other: We have one person confirmed, so looking for 3-5 other players. As above, I'm over 50 and prefer an adult game, so please be over 20. Accepting and friendly to all creeds, genders, and orientations. Only thing I won't be doing is NSFW/sex stuff; just good old-fashioned D&D on a table with minis, dice, and pizza. Any questions, ping me here, and if it looks good, we can move it to Discord.
Thnx for the interest. Yeah, Hartford would be a trip. Used to live in north jersey and i'd drive up to Hartford for cabinet-making classes once a week. 3.5 hours each way, so I'm guessing you to Norwalk/Stamford/Greenwich would be at least 2. The ask is moot if we don't get more people, though. Right now, I'm still at one player. If we get 3 more, then perhaps I can hook up a webcam during the session so you can see and follow on Zoom. I'll let you know where we're at after the weekend. Given the offline and geographic specificity, I'm obviously not getting the same number of replies as I would have if this were online. Will probably just keep running this ad here and on Reddit till I hit three-four or give up. I'll ping you here when I figure that out.
Haven’t chosen a day. Any weeknight works for me, so I was figuring we’d get some confirmed interest and then figure out a day. Might even adjust the day each week to one where it works for everyone. I’m also not 100% yet on whether this will be weekly or once every other week. Again would base that on peoples’ availability, including mine.
The sessions will be in lower Fairfield County tho, so that’d be a drive for you. Just making sure you’re ok with that.

Interested, but quite a drive (near Hartford). Perhaps we can work something out?
