Who am I?

I am Italian, but I am living in Finland. I like to think that my English language has a very funny accent! When I run games, I go by the handle of DM Vassago. I have been a DM since 1994, for almost thirty years. And during these 30 years, I have strived to do something RPG and D&D related almost every day.

Lately,  for the past three years, I have been exploring and studying the intricate world of Midgard, the official setting of Kobold Press, and now I am ready to offer several official campaigns set in that world. On the top of that, I am also offering official campaigns by Wizards of the Coast. I like to run classics like Lost Mine of Phandelver and other introductory adventures, perfect for new players :)

I take D&D very seriously, it has an important part in my life. I spent practically all of my free time reading modules, adventures and novels related to D&D. All of this experience gets then funneld into the adventures I run: I have calculated that for a three hours sessions I usually prepare about 8-9 hours. As I said, I take my duties solemnly.

I am very fond of dedicating time and energy to prepare my adventures as best as I can, creating tailored plots and events to surprise characters (and players!) playing at my table. I am careful and attentive to my players' needs, and I make sure that they get all the help that they require during character creations and of  course even after. I am a professional Registered Nurse specialized in mental disorders, therefore I take very seriously the eventual requests for safety and boundaries.

Why am I charging for games?

It has become almost impossible to find a dedicated game of D&D: there are so many, many players and only a handful of DMs ready to take up the challenge and get the job done. At the same time,  players have often no investment in the game they are playing and they quit (or don't show up) so often that most campaigns fall apart.

By charging a small amount of money I ensure that the players joining the game are genuinely committed to it. At the same time, this prompts me to be as professional as I can and to provide the best experience possible to my players.

I also have an extensive library of digital assets in the following platforms:

• D&D Beyond
• Fantasy Grounds Unity
• Syrinscape

All of my players have access for free to those assets, there are no extra fees to pay. Everything is included in the original charge when players sign up. And players can peruse and read all the compendium in D&D Beyond that I own even when they are not playing!

We will be using Fantasy Grounds Unity (you can download the free demo from the publisher website https://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/FantasyGroundsUnity.php or even from Steam). We will play through Discord, so a microphone is essential (camera is welcome, but optional). For full immersion you can create a free Syrinscape account (https://syrinscape.com/) and download the Syriscape Online app. Like that, you will be able to listen to music and soúnd effects during the games.

We will create characters straight away in Fantasy Grounds Unity during session zero, where you will be able to choose from all the official WotC options and Kobold Press options.
