I’ve been DM-ing for a year now and love doing it, but I really want to play for the first time in a very very long time. Looking for a group (especially one that wants to go to high levels!). Online is fine since I doubt anyone lives near me.
I am looking for players for a new sandbox campaign set in a wilderness setting. Playing Thursday nights at 7pm central. I recently made a post if you want more information.
Also I feel wanting to be a player, I started GMing because our forever GM friend wanted to be a player and didn't have time to keep being GM. With that said I am still fairly new to GMing but welcome all feedback.
Many people had found themselves pulled into the Rift world, an unstable material plane in which portals to other worlds often open. In the heart of the city of Teebeedee, sits a stable portal to Sigil, the city of doors. Can you find your way back home? Just explore strange new worlds? Or do you want to make a name for yourself in one of the guilds? The choice is yours.
The City of Doors is a West March style, D&D 5e game. We play through discord and roll20. This will be our second season in this setting. Season one took place 200 years in the past, so while there may be references or homages, this game will be its own self contained storyline that doesn't require any knowledge of the previous season.
The world is completely homebrewed. While we use the name Sigil and The City of Doors from D&D lore, the specifics of what you'll find there will be all original.
We have a number of DMs that are able to run games throughout the week and weekend. While the game sessions from the first season were preplanned by the DMs, this season we plan to stick to a more true West Marches style game. You, the players will decide what you want to do, and where.
If this sounds like fun to you, you're 21 or older and you'd like to join us as a player or possibly a dm, feel free to send me a message or reply to this post. I'll send you the discord link.
Hello friend. I play in a group of adults that range in age from 20's to 50's. We are currently a group of four all at 3rd level. The play is balanced between riddles, roleplay and combat. We are easy going. I would characterize the players and DM as kind and friendly. The setting is Feywild. Mechanics are 5e with a mix of homebrew. We could use a tank or martial class. But if you have a class you really long to play, we can fold you in.
We play on Saturday afternoons: 2-5p EST. We play 2-3 times per month. We will play if 3 players in the group are present.
Hey friend! That sounds like a great environment to play in! You answered all my questions. I’m in love with a Druid or wizard character I’ve got because I’m crazy about magic- but I’ll look into a tank character and see if I can love that too. I may have to work on random Saturdays. When you play if one person is missing, what is that process?
We usually just play your character as an NPC on those days. But only with your permission. Otherwise your character might stay behind in what we would consider a safe haven while the rest of the group ventures out. There is also quite a bit of in character chat and role-playing that takes place during the week. And there is a rather exhaustive recap that is posted for players to read about the previous sessions. Again the quorum is three players to have a session. If we don't have a quorum we just suspend play until the next scheduled session. I hope that answers your question.
Also send me your discord handle so that I can send you a friend request.
Oh by the way, if you want to play a magic user, that's totally cool! The party right now consists of a paladin a moon druid or at least I think our druid is going to become a moon druid in the absence of a tank A rogue and a warlock.
More important I think than the character class you end up playing is getting an opportunity to meet the players. I can set that up as a group chat in discord. I'll reach out to you soon.
