Game: D&D 5e Grouptype: Online (Discord/DnDBeyond) Experience: ~8 years in several systems. Been a career GM running paid games for a year and a half! Timezone: Pacific/Eastern Schedule: Weekly - Mondays or Fridays, 11:30am-2:30pm Pacific (which is 230-530 eastern) Roles sought: I want to facilitate a game where YOU get to play the kind of character YOU want to play! Looking for players of any and all skill levels! Game style:
Hey there everybody, my name is Fitz! I'm pan, non-binary (they/he) and I have been a DM for about 8 years now. For the last 18 months I've been able to build up to making this my full-time job, doing freelance work in the TTRPG industry and running paid games on a consistent weekly basis. So thankful that I am able to consider this my career nowadays, which has only allowed me to dedicate even more time and effort to the worldbuilding that goes into the shared server we use for the many campaigns taking place in the setting! If you'd like a little reassurance here's my ko-fi for posterity's sake, as I can understand the hesitation from some players in pursuing a player-gm relationship of this nature, but rest assured, the atmosphere over at Also Dragons is casual, welcoming, and one seekign to foster strong relationships between like-minded players and characters.
As a DM and GM, I have experience running several editions of D&D, from 3e to 5e, both editions of Pathfinder, Call of Cthulu, PBtA, a number of Rules-lite systems, and The Witcher TTRPG. Because of the convenience and accessibility, we are running 5e using Discord and DnDBeyond as our primary tools. In general, I am pretty laid back as a DM but seek to foster a roleplay-focussed game, where the players are invested in the world and the things going on around them, which lives, breathes, and moves regardless of how the PCs choose to interact with it.
Right now, I am looking for another player or two that is interested in joining our community server for the following campaign:
SINS OF THE STILL
Windless waters hug the sister continents which enclose the Typhaon Still on either side, presenting an ocean of innavigable horizons. Forced into a state of separation, communication finds itself thrown to the wayside, with a focus on survival for the newly settled borders of the world. That is, aside from a thin strip of chartered passes, voyaged only by daring coastal merchants. Over the decades, as magic returns in different shapes across the world, each culture finds its mastery over their beliefs and their understanding of the supernatural growing more mature. They learn to combat new foes, creatures, and ill-intentioned citizens that only grow more varied and fearsome to match. After a century, the rise and fall of conflict across the sister continents produces a boiling pot of conflict that slips past the purview of political leaders, budding arcanists, and humoral academics--all too worried about minding the heat, they've forgotten that the water very well might boil over.
Where the Typhaon Still bleeds into the Oromel Ocean along it's southern tip, the sister continents are split, but on either side of that elusive sea, the stillness of the Typhaon finds itself stirred by the emergence of powers in the world. It begins to travel inland, and over the course of decades the coasts of either continent begins crumbling into barren, blighted desolation. Deserts clawing at the land threatening to turn all to derelict ruin. Of course, not all that live on the far reaches of these regions give up hope and fled deeper into their countries, many remain, and the pestilential, rotting lands around them are lawless, fiendish, and full of unknown threats. Venture into ash and dust, hold out hope, for things are not as they seem on the edges of the Still...
There will be companion doc developed based on feedback and expectations come session 0!
I'd love to talk through more about the setting or what type of content people would like to see, and to begin discussing character concepts with whoever is considering! Hopefully I have made this sound somewhat appealing, but to get it out of the way, each game is $20 per-week-per-player, ideally paid weekly or in recurring monthly installments over Ko-fi. Of course, in return for that you get an in depth, roleplay driven game, where we use battle maps, music, and art cultivated from creators in the TTRPG scene, and where I provide access to all available content on DnDBeyond.
I believe (or would like to believe) that I bring a level of commitment to running my D&D campaigns that makes the investment more than worth it. Not only would you get a conscientious and aspirational Dungeon Master out of the deal, but also, I hope, some friends and a D&D game that you can play through and go on to tell stories about later in your career as a player--nothing that gets a group to stick together like some skin in the game (or in this case, literal investment)... I also like to think I am very funny.
For the sake of credibility, once again, here'sa link to my Ko-fi, where you can see I've had a fair amount of success doing this!
Feel free to leave a message here to keep the thread active and/or to reach out on Discord (@zd_fitz) for more information before deciding if youre interested!
