Casual but I want to get a real feel for DND. I'd like to play with "normal" rules (e.g. rations, encumberment, etc.). I only add this because I've read that some games just give endless bag space and don't worry about things like rations. It probably doesn't mater in a one shot campaign but I'd still like to keep them
Short campaign. If possible, finish in one 3.5 hour session. Otherwise, two 3 hours sessions is fine
I have no preference on which campaign we run but I'd prefer an official campaign v.s. a homebrew with a custom world
Level 1 characters
2 player Campaign (Druid and Wizard)
I'd like to try and find a DM who is OK with just two players given the campaign will be short. I'm open to a 4-5 person campaign if needed but trying for just two players
Voice Chat: Yes, Discord (preferred)
Video/Webcam: No
About Us:
My wife and I are in our 30's and neither one of us has played DND before
We both have our characters created and are ready to play
Although we haven't played DND before we've been playing MMORPG's and other games for years and feel very comfortable exploring fantasy worlds, solving puzzles, and going on adventures. I think we'll be able to pick up the basics of DND quickly and that should help with the short campaign
What we're looking for in a DM:
Respect the start/end times. The end times are hard stops so I'd really like to start on time. We'll show up ready to jump right in and I hope you do the same!
Ability to create a fun and enjoyable player experience
Patience. We're going to need guidance with some basic things as we find our footing in the game world
Be able to guide us and give advice when needed or when we make a mistake, but don't try to play for us
Be respectful
Your previous DM experience (or lack thereof) doesn't matter to me. As long as you believe you can run this campaign and teach new players, then I'm happy.
Closing Thoughts:
We are excited to start our first campaign and I think with the right DM we're all going to have a great time. We're laid back and enjoy a good laugh but don't let us being new to the game fool you, we're quick on our feet so be ready for us to throw you a curve ball or two during this run. What's that mean? I have no idea, but I'm sure we'll think of something. After all you know the saying, "A level 1 Wizard and Druid walk into a dungeon and..."
Sincerely, Tolbar the Wizard

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I had August on my mind for some reason. I updated my post to reflect July.
