Scheduling/Availability: Weeknights and weekends but open to other times if you have a group that is ready.
Paid DM looking for groups or players
Game style: Balanced between combat, exploration, and roleplay. Able to modify the balance to fit group preferences. I tend towards more light hearted and casual vibes but am able to do more serious or hardcore games if desired.
I have loved playing RPGs since I was a young kid and had my first experience with playing TTRPGs in undergrad. I love the freedom that TTRPGs provides and the creative collaboration between players and DMs creates some of the most entertaining stories I have ever heard. Now I have graduate degree in psychology, too much free time, and too little money so I might as well provide my services doing something I enjoy.
I have been DMing for about 6-7 years and I have been a certified therapeutic game master for about a year now. My greatest DM accomplishment was running a consistent weekly 5e game through all 4 years of grad school. I have all the 5 edition books and manage campaigns through dndbeyond with content sharing so groups and players playing with me will have access to all the 5e content. I have run groups through various adventure modules to completion and have run several homebrew campaigns to completion. I have experience with Foundry VTT and TaleSpire, however I generally do more with photoshop and share screen over Zoom as some of my past player’s computers had difficulty with running zoom and Foundry at the same time and most people don’t own TaleSpire.
My schedule is open and I am open to all skill levels. I have taught children how to play and I taught the adults participants of my dissertation of my study how to play. Optimal groups are 4-6 players, I have run groups of 9 before but that leaves a lot of down time for people to get bored. Looking for full groups in need of a DM, but I will start putting individuals on wait lists for evening sessions, grouped by availability and preferred play experience.
Session 0 is free to establish expectations, choose an adventure, create characters, and set up safety and content rules. I use Consent in Gaming checklist to establish boundaries around what kinds of content is included in the game. I have numerous 3 party books and settings that can be used including: Planesbreaker, Heckna, Grim Hollow, Heliana’s Monster Hunting, Critical Role, and all 3 ghostfire fables. I have a few homebrew settings as well and have experience making up campaigns from the 5e settings books like Theros, Spelljammer, Ravnica, Ravenloft, or Eberron.
Therapeutic games can focus on a variety of subjects including trauma, social difficulties, and identity exploration. Feel free to reach out for more information and the option to be put on a waitlist until a group fills up.
My rates: Either pay by player for a session or we can discuss group rates.
