Game style: Somewhat of a casual vibe, roleplay heavy (70:30 split of RP to Combat)
Looking for a relaxed, casual atmosphere that leans more so into roleplay over combat? This might be the campaign for you! But not to worry, those of you who like to kick down doors, kill monsters, and acquire loot, as there will also be some combat to satisfy your inner murderhobo, it just won’t be the main focus of this excursion. And for anyone wondering about the level of gravitas/seriousness in the campaign, I like to keep mine somewhere in the middle of Monty Python and Lord of the Rings, leaning a bit in the direction of LotR.

Hi, I'm Dan (27, they/he), and I'll be your humble DM for this journey. I already have a few players in this game, but we needed a few more folks to run a proper campaign. Final party number would be 5 people.
Here's a few things I'll need to run through, housekeeping-wise:
We plan to play weekly on Sundays at 5pm EDT (EST when the time changes back), though there is a possibility that we may swap to Saturdays in the same time slot. It's not concrete, but I feel that anyone applying to this game should be aware of that.
I'm only looking for players who are 18 years old or older. Sorry to any interested minors, but I'm personally only comfortable running my games for adults.
We'll be using Discord for VC and D&D Beyond for character sheets. This will be overwhelmingly Theater of the Mind, so other than maybe a very rare instance of Roll20 for an important set piece battle map, there won't be any VTT. That's just how I prefer to run games, so if that's not your jam, here's your heads up.
For this campaign, the people of the continent it will be taking place upon (at the start, at least) are somewhat hostile to arcane magic users, sans bards. That's not to say that you can't play as a wizard or sorcerer, but you've got to be a little creative when it comes to dealing with the people of the land. I'll go more into detail on this for those who end up joining. Similar to the previous bullet, if this isn't your thing, you have been warned.
Certain official character options will be restricted or modified, including but not limited to: Artificer (The only subclass I might consider hearing out is the Alchemist. The others don't really fit with the vibe I want in this game.), Silvery Barbs (now a 3rd level spell), most of the Ravnica races, Warforged, and others. Homebrew content might be allowed on a case-by-case basis. I'll give the full rundown on the things restricted or altered, including the houserules I use, during session 0.
