My therapist told me to make an OC for DnD and to try to makes some friends to play with to help me get out of my "cave of isolation" and be a form of selfcare. I've been wanting to play DnD for years now, but I've honestly been terrified to try- as silly as that sounds. My hang ups come from being a slow learner (special ed/autistic), so I'm afraid of frustrating others. I know it's really hard to be patient with me and I have a lot of guilt about it. I'm also worried about character death, as I just want to just have fun with others more so then challenge myself since I'm just starting out with quite literally no information. As well as I'm slow to type and can get overwhelmed easily by it. My therapist suggest I instead try one where you can just voice chat.
So really I guess I'm looking for anyone who would be willing to teach me the ropes and just have a chill/fun based campaign that takes place someplace where we can verbally communicate? I know I'm asking for a lot, I just want to take it slow and try. It's terrifying to reach out, but I have to try.
i can get a server for you and one other person on discord to have a relaxed campaign. its on discord so you may need to make an account and then add me elysium_

I wouldn't mind running you through some fun, interesting ideas I have had in mind. If you don't mind one on one gameplay, rather than with a traditional party, that is fine by me. I would be willing to accept another couple people to add in or remove as you would please. Mostly I would expect you to have assistance from NPCs that I control. I don't know much about your situation, but let me know if there is a specific time slot, day, frequency, or any other conditions to arranging this.
I would be investing a bit of time and thought, as well as communication and commitment to our timeslot. I don't ask anything in return, except that you give me a chance to try out some unique settings. As long as you can communicate with me, roleplay the setting, and make an effort to show up, I am willing to grow as a DM further as you learn as a new player. I know how things can be hard to handle and grasp on your own, and though I don't know your situation, I know how to empathize with somebody wanting to share a passion of mine. Maybe you will come to enjoy it as much as I do. Learn a little about yourself vicariously through your characters. Or maybe you don't like it and that is how you grow. Message me, if you want to collaborate.
I would love to join as a player in your group :) I have played a lot of D&D in the past but haven't had the chance in recent years. I'm a bit rusty but I do love helping others and would enjoy aiding in learning and playing alongside you! I have ADHD, I understand the neurodivergent experience and have a lot of patience for that sort of thing.
Feel free to message me on here or preferably on discord.
I have experience playing with a disgraphic/ADHD player (my son, who is now an adult), so I understand your struggles. I'd love to join you as a fellow player and help you build your confidence. I am also on Discord - flaire76537 - but I rarely check it unless I know I need to, so message me here (and or all of you) first.
