Greetings, My name is Swagger. My brother and I are currently seeking 6 players for a Dual GM inspired DnD 5e campaign. A little about my DnD experience. I have been playing with my Step Dad since 2nd edition in the early 90's when I was younger. Some 3.5 and 4th edition with friends in my early 20's and most recently 5th edition with my siblings. My brother has been playing with me for the past 6 years. If interested feel free to reach out here or on my discord .swagger87 Now for the good stuff intro to the world of Glantri.
You are in Glantri also known as the Kingdom of Magic. Believed to be the center of all creation. In the beginning the gods and celestials and greater deities fused all their powers to create a never ending supply of magic and power to create their worlds, planes and universes. This fountain of fused power is told to be at the very center of the world. Heavily guarded by many traps, seals and undefeatable guardians. So much power radiates from this planet that it is no wonder creatures and very powerful beings find their way here in an effort to somehow tap into this infinite power! Gods used to walk among the people of Glantri. Playing games with peoples lives and creating great wars amongst each other that cause great havoc and devastation throughout the land. A group of very powerful archmages grew tired of seeing the gods medal in human affairs and being used as their pawns. They found a way to tap into this Font of Power known as the Great Grand Nucleus. Wielding power like they had never imagined they were able to vanquish, or at least banish the gods from interfering with mortals again. They became known as the “Immortals” a group of Archmages that maintain the balance and order of Glantri. They swore an oath to not interfere with the affairs of mortals. This caused a lot of backlash from the religious communities. A 200 year war ensued between spellcasters and divine magic users. The divine casters created many magic items to destroy and kill magic users. The Immortals who vowed to never interfere with mortal affairs did break their oath to help tip the scales back in favor of their fellow sorcerers and wizards. After that divine magic became outlawed, religious practitioners were hunted and executed and it became unlawful to practice or use divine magic or pray to Gods. A very powerful necromancer by the name of Grezhul the Darkheart. Made a pact with Orcus, a demon prince of the Abyss to create a plague to destroy life and create armies of undead. He created a vast number of plagues and sickness that swept like a wildfire across the land. Without Divine magic he was nearly unstoppable and successful in destroying all of Glantri. The Immortals once again intervened and wiped out most of his undead armies. The ban on Divine magic was lifted and clerics, druids, paladins and some warlocks were allowed to call upon their deities to help drive back Grezhul and his undead abominations. While divine magic is still highly frowned upon and discouraged except for healing purposes and helping thwart evil. It is only illegal to use divine magic as an offensive means towards magic users. There is a tenuous pact between Divine and Magic users. It’s not uncommon for there to be skirmishes from time to time but nowhere near as bad. Some kingdoms hold a large grudge against the divine users and outlaw it completely. Like the Principality of Klantyre. At the center of Glantri is Glantri City: Glantri City is a town of 50,000. A floating island 500ft in the air. Glantri City includes an assortment of guilds and brotherhoods, and secret societies such as Beggar’s Court, the Elven Liberation Front, the Free Fundamentalist Farmers, the Monster Handler's Syndicate, and the Thousand Fists of Khan, each with conflicting interests and political agendas. A magic-user's career includes enrollment in the Glantrian School of Magic, which permits a magic-user to learn new skills, like quick spell-casting and the ability to combine spells. Similar to Venice: "Glantri City has canals rather than streets, and travel is by bridge, gondola, or private boat. Thanks!
