Hello everyone! Here's some info on the campaign I plan to run! i hope you apply to play!
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (discord, using Owlbear Rodeo for combat maps) Experience: I have both game-mastered and played D&D 5e. I've been running D&D for a few years now Schedule: Games are every week at 3:00 PM PST on Saturdays. If you can't make it at this time very consistently don't join this campaign Roles sought: Looking for Players (You must be ages 16-18 to play) Game style: (down below)
-- Basics: The game style is around 45%/55% combat/noncombat ratio as a whole. It's designed for experienced players but new players can apply to play as well. The campaign uses Milestone Leveling and players start at level 4.
--Story Tone: This campaign is darker than average as a whole. By no means is it a grimdark/heavy dark fantasy at all, but its going to be a serious campaign with some bloody elements but there is gonna be some more levity-focused non-combat time. What this means for characters is no meme/very lighthearted characters.
-- Combat Style: (Note: The 1st 1-2 quests will be slightly easier than what I'm gonna describe for the sake of new players) Overall, my combat is on the less brutal side, but this campaign has perma-death. (no resurrection) My combat is designed around a bit of tactics and spamming attacks/spells without a plan doesn't end well. My rules do allow for a bit more tactical flexibility for classes which lack flexibility like martial classes.
--Rules: Omens of Mystryn is going to be a lot more balanced than the typical 5e campaign, since it has lots of houserules as a whole to balance things. The rules are down below in the spoiler
- If you're new to D&D then I can go over the rules changes with you. No need to read rules you may not understand
- If you're an experienced player, read slides 2, 4, 26, 28, 29, and the adjustments for your class. (Spellcasting classes have universal adjustments on page 5, and each class (including spellcasters) have a dedicated slide somewhere from slides 6-20) The rules are a google slide, so reading each slide won't be long. You don't need to read slide 3 but it's good if you want to know the intent of these rules
Lastly, my discord is Aetherryft#0000 so contact me there to apply! Applying to this campaign does not guarantee being accepted to play since I get lots of applicants, but you should try if you're interested! Remember, you must be ages 16-18 to play in the campaign!
