Hello, my name is Sam. I'm looking to run The Lost Mine of Phandelver for a group of four players (though if there's a lot of interest, I might be able to stretch to 5 or 6). I'm a somewhat experienced DM, having done several home games and am currently running an ongoing campaign with my friends and a series of one-shots at work. I am hoping to have a roleplay heavy game, or as heavy as one can have in a module. If you are looking for a dungeon crawl (nothing wrong with a good dungeon crawl), this won't be for you. There may be coarse language and descriptions of violence (closer to the Lord of the Rings movies than the Game of Thrones show). We will be hosting a session zero to collaborate on character creation. I plan on playing every other week, on Friday evenings after 6pm.
If that sounds interesting to you, please reply with the following information:
Your first name and pronouns (so I can address you properly, I won't be using these for deciding on players)
Your experience with roleplaying games and with D&D specifically. New players are perfectly welcome, experienced players are as well.
What your favorite part of D&D is. If you've not played before, please share why you've decided to start playing. "I saw it on a show" or "Baldur's Gate 3" are both perfectly acceptable; I began playing because of Bender's Game, myself.
If you have a preferred character archetype, please share it. If there are classes or playstyles that do not agree with you, definitely share that as well.
What your favorite piece of fantasy fiction is. This can be a book, another game, a movie, a show, or any other kind of fiction.
Hello my name is Elijah, my pronouns are (he/him), I have no experience with D&D, I decided to try it out after watching a show called 'HarmonQuest', I would like to join if possible.
2. I have some experience with D&D but it's been about 3 years since I have last played.
3. I started playing D&D because my friends did, and I was interested in it. My favorite part of D&D would have to be coming up with plans to deal with situations and having to improvise when things go south.
4. I like more of like the comic relief characters, but I'm ok with not playing one if it doesn't fit the vibe of the party. I don't have any character archetypes I dislike; I enjoy seeing how people play differently to others as long as we can all come together as a party and work together.
5. I'm a huge fan of the Dark Souls franchise, and Elden Ring, with Dark Souls 1 being my favorite of the series. When it comes to written stories, I'm a huge fan of One Piece.
Both played and DM’d a handful of times- haven’t played in a few years, so just rusty. New to online games but attempting to teach myself stuff like VTTs/Roll20. For specifically roleplaying I’ve been doing text-based roleplay regularly for years.
My favorite part of the game is building characters & roleplaying / developing dynamics and stories within the party! I favor story over hack’n slash combat or endless dungeon crawls, and I play to have fun more than I play to adhere strictly to the rulebook
I’m open to adjusting to the party’s character needs, but I have the most experience with warlocks & I’m currently looking to play a cleric- I don’t do well roleplaying loud, boisterous, charismatic characters and tend to stick to more level-headed and quiet types ( not the kind that sulks in the corner and hates everyone/refuses to engage the party )
My favorite *specifically* fantasy media is the Eragon books- I can’t remember much of them now but I loved them in middle/high school. I was also a Guardians of Ga’hoole kid and play games like BG3 and Shadow of the Colossus ( which I’ve tried making into a D&D game in the past )
my discord is equinehotline if youd like to reach out! ty!
