besides having 300 hours of baldurs gate 3 and a pretty darn good imagination this would be my first time as dm but im a good learner and listener so youd be helping me become a better DM overall, so give me a shot.
Unfortunately, new players with a new DM is fairly risky. And Video game experience does not translate to table top and the mixed social cocktail that is five new players at a table.
Hello there! I'm a DM with a few years of experience in 5e creating campaigns and I've played in a couple of campaigns too.
All of my games in the past have been in finnish though, and I would like to try playing in english. Rest assured I'm fluent in english, but having not spoken regularly for a while now I do have a bit of an accent.
Can I ask why you say it is fairly risk with new players and a new DM? I ask this because we have a new group with new players besides me and another, the DM has exp playing D&D but first time DMing. He is DM a group with two peopel who have played and the rest of the group in new. So i just want to know why you would say it is fairly risky just to keep in mind.
"Risky" sounds negative. - Risk of, "Not following PHB/RAW core rules," as intended? Risk of not having an entertaining session? Both are moot. Even with a Veteran DM, you run the risk of both of these happening. --- I think new/new is fine, just be sure to check the source-material and learn together! makes for fantastical adventures! Edit: and DM/Players alike, be open to communication, compromise, and finding what best-works for the team. Mistakes happen. Rules can be broken.
I've seen you around the Forums this week @fuccgio, I hope your Campaign goes well! There are resources ABOUND if you need assistance at any point! Edit: And if you dont know it? Home-brew it! You can get it, 'right' next session! (i.e. understanding wizard spells lol) Just discuss expectations with your crew.

I'm a new player looking to join a team. Have room?
That would be a question for whoever we get as a DM.
I will also ask the other members.
