Game: Pretty much any 5e Group preferred: I’d prefer an online group through discord, having said that my discord username is fictionall. Experience: Very little, I’ve pretty much just got the basic idea. Timezone: CDT Availability: I‘m usually always available after 2:00pm CDT. I may have appointments come up, but if I do, I’ll make sure to let you know in advance! Preferred role: Player Game style: I’m looking for a healthy mix of combat and roleplay. I’d prefer a more old-timey medieval d&d game. I’d also prefer a campaign that‘s a bit more serious with a clear goal and lore, but I’m not looking for a completely stone faced adventure, you know what I mean? A nice mix of somber and funny moments. Extra: I am 15 years old, if that is too young for your group to be comfortable with that is completely okay. I just want to make my age clear to avoid any complications. Please add me on discord to further talk and discuss as I am most active on there. Thank you for your time!
This is still open! As some extra notes, I’d greatly prefer if the campaign I joined is not held on Saturdays as I am busy then. Please contact me on discord instead of d&d beyond as I am way more active on there and more likely to see your message, my username is Fictionall. If you can’t reach me through there for whatever reason, please give me your username and I will add you. I have a basic character idea bullet point which I will list below. Of course, if you decide to message me and introduce me to the campaign, these points can be edited and changed to fit the story/lore. I enjoy working on my characters with the dm so they fit the world, and so we can give each other ideas. This is just a general idea, I have not developed anything further.
- human artificer - city boy from when he was born to early adult/late teen ages. - when he was younger, he lost one of his legs in an accident of sorts. - older person in his life that he was close with decided to either pick up artificer work to help him or they already knew this craft. They gifted him a new leg. - through this kindness, he became inspired, and his motivation was to help others like he had been helped. - turns out he has a knack for this kind of thing and he quickly picks it up, doing very well and creating new things for people he was close with. - he opens up his own shop, proud of what he’s accomplished, and enjoys his work. People often come in ordering from him, and he happily accepts, with one group of people in particular ordering frequently. - turns out these people are a part of some sort of nefarious organization and they’re using his craft for the exact opposite of what he had in mind. - this organization begins to overpower the city he lives in, forcing many residents including himself to leave. Even after residing in another town, he still feels guilty. He also feels anxious that the same thing will happen. Due to this, he decides to take his craft somewhere that he knows it won’t harm others. (Mountains, forest, swamp, etc.) - Living alone after living a life full of other people was hard for him to adjust to, so he made his own companion to keep him company and also keep him safer in the area he lives at since it’s so secluded from the public. - After some time, he grows used to the lack of company, and almost prefers it as opposed to the liveliness. He finds a new appreciation for the world and nature around him. - He now only takes orders from people he trusts and he knows need it. - He joins the party as a way to explore the world around him, but more so to get away from his previous experiences and start anew. - The party most likely assumes he just enjoys nature and the natural sights of the world, unaware of the prominent reason he joined.
TLDR, human artificer who was forced out of his own town due to his craft being used for evil deeds by a group he was unaware of. The group overpowers the city. He goes to live a life away from this in solitude due to the group overpowering but also out of fear of this happening again. Through this, he gains a new appreciation for the world around him. He wishes to explore more but he also wishes to start anew and get far away from his old life, leading him to join a group.
