Looking for players. New long term homebrew fantasy 5e game

Hi, I go by Mece. I got back into D&D during the pandemic and I’m looking to give DMing a full game a try.

We will be using Discord, Roll 20 and D&D beyond. The game will be on Wednesday night starting at 6:30 and ending at 8:30 Eastern Standard Time (or longer if the session just needs a few more rounds to finish up). I am looking for 5 players, maybe 6, all adults please. We will start at level 3 and use standard array for stats. For player races Human(variant), Elf, Half Elf, Halfling, Dragon Born,Tieflings, Genasi.

I’m making a fantasy D&D 5e homebrew setting that is a little bit Ebberon and a little bit Final Fantasy. Basically it is a high fantasy setting but they have cars, trains(most of your travel will be via train) and guns. For world building reasons all Paladins are Dragon born and all artificers are Tieflings. 

The Royal family is currently kept busy by attacks from once friendly entities. They are trying to limit the damage caused by the attacks of such high level beings, but also are trying their best not to kill any of them because they were friendly and are obviously brainwashed. The brainwashing incidents have been happening in small cities and towns as well, turning normal citizens into aggressive zombie-like figures. The goal of the campaign is to discover the truth behind these incidents while the Queen and her trusted warriors keep the monster of the week from destroying another town. 

 Some of the missions will require you to kill as few people as possible (you can knock them out, put them to sleep, or any other magical means of stopping movement)while your team destroys the source of the brainwashing. Or Rescuing and escorting Civilians out of harm's way. I plan on including plenty of fighting and temples or caverns that need to be explored/cleared of  mind controlling baddies. Outside of story related missions I would like the world to be open. So the entire campaign won't be mission focused, the party may stumble upon trouble while exploring the world. 

Because your team will be backed by the crown you will be paid well enough to buy better and better magical goodies as your levels go up. So there will be no special items at the start, but you will soon gain them and more. (let me know if there is a high level weapon or item you’d like to work your way up to)
