About the adventure
Fifteen years ago, Drakkenheim was destroyed by an eldritch storm of falling stars. Now, the city is a dismal urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and haunted by hideous monsters. Fantastic wealth, lost knowledge, and powerful artifacts lie ready for the taking by adventurers brave or foolish enough to venture into the ruins!
What to expect in this adventure:
EXPLORATION. Characters embark on dangerous expeditions into monster-filled ruins, haunted streets, decrepit gardens, shattered mage towers, baroque cathedrals, and ancient castles to plunder treasure and solve mysteries. Explore over 20 ruined urban locations, inspired by dark fantasy and cosmic horror!
INTERACTION. Five rival factions clash over the ruins of Drakkenheim. A tangled web of secrets, subterfuge, and sabotage awaits when the factions’ opposing objectives and your characters’ personal goals come into conflict! Personal quests, tantalizing rumors and lightweight urban exploration mechanics allow player characters to experience the ruins in a nonlinear and open-ended fashion.
COMBAT. Beyond fierce warriors dispatched by the factions, all manner of otherworldly horrors inhabit Drakkenheim. Characters battle undead husks, predatory beasts, mutated monstrosities, and terrifying abominations produced by the mysterious meteor.
My games are always LGBTQ+ and BIMPOC friendly. My goal as a GM is to make sure that everyone has fun in a safe and welcoming environment. It is not enough to be tolerated. Every player and character needs to be celebrated for what makes them unique.

Additional Details
How to prepare
You will need a free account on Discord, Roll20, and D&D Beyond. We will use Discord for voice chat during the game, Roll20 will be our virtual tabletop, and D&D Beyond will be used for our character sheets. Please make sure to use a headset with microphone. If you plan on using your computer's built in mic and speakers, please do your best to limit background noise or turn on "push to talk". If you use D&D Beyond, please install the Beyond20 extension so that your rolls are sent to Roll20.
What I provide
A friendly Discord chat, a Roll20 virtual tabletop with beautiful maps and tokens, and an immersive gaming experience. I also provide a D&D Beyond campaign where you can access all my virtual books! I have added all of the Drakkenheim specific content (backgrounds, spells, magic items, etc.) as home-brew in D&D Beyond so you can easily add them to your character sheets.

These are the baseline safety and consent assumptions for all of my games.
Drakkenheim portrays a dark fantasy world. Please note references to the following are common in this adventure:
The campaign does not contain explicit sexuality, sexual assault, racial prejudice, systemic racism, homophobia, or transphobia.
SESSION 0
We will start session 0 with introductions and then go over house rules, lines and veils, the safety tools available during game play, and character creation including backstories and relationships. I will provide everyone with a clear and concise template to use during writing your backstory. If you are new to D&D, I will be sure to give you helpful tips and advice as well as teach by playing throughout the game. You can expect a break in the approximate middle of the session. I am always available via whisper or direct message during the game should anything or anyone make you feel uncomfortable. I'm also a participant in the game and lead by example. I won't hesitate to throw out an X-card if anything doesn't feel right to me.

How will character creation work
You will be expected to create your character on Roll20 or D&D Beyond during session 0 (edits can be made up until the start of session 1). I am also available on my Discord server for help with character creation and questions before session 0. You can use any official race and class. I am open to unearthed arcana and published third party materials if you clear them with me first.
