There will sometime be gore. There will sometime be subject that are scary/disgusting/shocking. If that is not your thing, this campaign is not for you. I like to write horror sometime (sparingly) and that is why I would rather put a disclaimer so that my players know what to expect.
Intro
Hi! I have been playing D&D 5e for a year and I decided to try DMing. It is set in a dark fantasy/steampunk/bio-punk setting. I won't talk much about the story here since I do not want to spoil people. This is a homebrew campaign. That being said, I am a new DM and I 100% expect it to go sideway. If you have any quesitons, feel free to ask down below.
Player rules:
Roleplay your character (no different voice required but if you want to do it, go for it)
I will not stop you from TRYING to do ANYTHING. However, there will be consequences.
Sometime the best outcome is nothing happens. Here is an example. You ask a king to give you his crown. If you rolled a 1 you would get decapitated. If you rolled a 10, you would get thrown in jail. If you rolled a nat20, the king would laugh at your joke.
There is some others rules, but those are the most important at the moment
Character creation rules:
No joke characters
No backstories until after session 1
Starting level: 1
VTT
As I wrote previously, we will be using FoundryVTT and discord only. Therefor we will not use DNDBeyond for the character sheets. However, I have an add-on that let you import from DNDBeyond character if you need it. However, you will probably want to create your character in FoundryVTT, as it let you create everything you want.
(Here's a bit of background if you're interested dm on discord and we can talk some more about how you plan to run the game :)

Little about me: I’ve been playing DnD 5e since I was in 8 grade (I now have a diploma) but I’ve only really played with one group of people. I really want to play with new faces to experience DnD with a different subset of people. I want to see some new playstyles and meet some like my own. I like a gritty, more serious tone with a bit of weird and wanderlust. I also really want to try a battlemap for once (very experienced with theater of the mind) and finally get into a long running campaign.
[Player Description]
Inspiration for PC – I try to pick out a combat style for my character then fit the character around it or vice versa. It feels like an interesting process, but I generally try to make out of the box characters, for me inspo can simply come a picture or even a line of dialogue. (It’s all about the flavor for me!)
Preferred Role – DPS; Most of the time my characters are damage focused. I won’t be upset if I’m not doing the most damage in the party and support roles aren’t of the question, I just tend to play offensive characters.
Motivation to Play – Serious roleplay really excites me especially if it is meaningful. I enjoy exploring others’ characters as much as my own (including NPCs) and high stakes battles really get the heart pumping. I try to find different ways to interact with the DMs story as well (DMing before myself I know a lot of things go undiscovered). Icing on the cake is always a world with a kickass concept I’m willing to explore. Backstory is also very important to me, not just mine but discovering my fellow players’ stories as well.
Play Style – My playstyle is often times flexible depending on what character I play. However, I will often ask the DM questions naturally due to my obsession to flavor things. In summary, DM is the rule (whatever the DM will allow I will abide by).
D&D Experience Level: Moderate What I may want out of a group: Consistency, Cooperation, Roleplay, Combat, Communication

If you want to any feedback about your games as well while I’m your player don’t be afraid to ask!
A bit about me: I am quite familiar with the rules as I have played in 4 campaigns that all ended due to the final boss of DND; Scheduling. My Pronouns are she/her and I am a college student but I can choose classes around when games are. I much more hands off with my characters and their backstories because I figure most DM's are much more adept at accidentally or purposefully traumatizing them anyways. My discord is LegionSystem if you would like to ask more questions!
Hello! This sounds very interesting and the time is perfect for me. I have been playing DND for a few years now and both play and DM. I use and am familiar with Discord, DDB, Owlbear Rodeo, Roll20 and Foundry. I am a chill guy who likes to play his character and allow others to play theirs. I like what you are saying and I am good with going with the flow. My Discord is og_coffeebeans and you can hit me up there if you are interested in me playing in your campaign. Thanks and good luck to us all haha.
