Hi!!
My name is Nikita! Me and my partner Ollie are new(ish) to the London area and are looking to start an in person DnD game. Ollie has DM'ed most of our games (we've had several over the year), but I have also run an odd one shot and am eager to do more at some point :)
Our usual group has become very busy and so we've had to put our game on indefinite standby. The two of us are really missing playing and thought it would be great to start playing with a new group, making some new friends in the process. We're situated in London and would love to be able to start playing in-person (our last group had to play online - it was still good but the few in-person sessions we did were easily the best). Beneath I thought I'd add a little bit of info about us and our DnD style, just so that you can see if we'd be your sort of vibe.
Us:
- We're early 20s, love playing videogames and boardgames as well as DnD, we are very left-leaning (politically). We have been in London for over a year now, and are eager to make friends now that we have more time.

Our DnD games:
- I like to think our sessions our chill but still engaging. As a DM, I do tend to do character voices. I love it when my PCs reciprocate but would never pressure anyone to feeling like they had to.
- As a DM, as I mentioned before, I am still relatively new to the game but have accrued some experience and enjoy homebrewing worlds etc.
- Big believers of the rule of cool, I personally would rather approach the classic rules with a larger degree of leeway in order to accommodate the rule of cool
The actual game:
- Ideally, we'd like to put aside one evening a week (say, 2-5 hours roughly?).
- We'd love to do in-person but can also be flexible if certain weeks need to be online
- Ideally, we'd like to meet up first (hopefully the whole group of selected people could get together for a coffee meet or something before playing) just so we get more comfortable with one another and go over characters, a session 0 sort of idea
- I'll likely homebrew a world or re-use/skin a current world. I love for my players to be invested in their characters and so I'm very lenient with making alterations as we go.
- We currently don't have a space to play in, so we were thinking of using a boardgame Cafe (there's at least two nice ones near Greenwhich area)
Players we're after:
- As hinted at above, its great if you feel comfortable roleplaying but also don't feel any stress about that - we've played with quieter, shyer characters before - we still love playing with them
- We're aiming for (in an ideal world) a nicely balanced group, so hopefully equal number of guys, girls, or anyone in between or who identifies outside of that grouping.
- Probably 20-30 years old is ideal
I think that's probably about everything I can think of to mention. If you're interested, please respond to this and we can have a chat about what comes next.
Super looking forward to meeting whoever ends up joining,
Ollie (He/Him)
We have already found a few cool people who are interested (bringing the groups size up to 4 so far - with the DM included), but just wanted to see if anyone else was potentially interested.
Heya! Already replied to Ollie's post but thought I might give it another shot. I am Andrei, 22, quite new to London and looking to play! I'm happy to discuss details over discord (username: .discivilized) or any other means that work for you.
