The year is 1026 Post Metasis. As the brisk autumn winds brace across of the varied lands of the Shattered Planes of Sephritair, the good peoples have already nearly forgotten the Vampire-led coup that set the remote Material Prime ablaze not four months prior. As folks do their best to return to their every day, the port halls, the main means of teleport transit betwixt city to city and plane to plane, have begun instituting... strange... protocals.
The All-Planes Conglomerate swears the issues to be temporary, but rumors abound... of creatures slipping through the cracks. Of travelers returning home- going mad.
Of visions... of a great void... and a thousand eyes in the darkness. Watching. HUNGRY.
Your journey starts here!
The Campaigns!-
Shattered Planes campaigns are paid, long-term ongoing campaigns set in a single, unified homebrew setting designed to provide optimal immersion, a sense of inclusion, and a gentle lore-learning curve. Though Sephritair is run as a living world, the heart of each campaign is the players, their stories, and choices, and how they relate to the greater events of this epic setting. Mechanics-wise, all groups play weekly and are run using a basic 5e ruleset with a few minor house-rules added to make the experience more welcoming to newer players. DM does character accents & voices! Leveling is benchmark. Sessions run three to four hours. All parties max/lock at 6 committed players! Cost is a flat monthly subscription that averages to $14 per player per game, payable via Kofi.
Campaign Four- Campaign Four promises to be a roughly 2 yr campaign, and will pick up IC not four months following the end of events in Campaign Three. This will be a high-lvl campaign, starting players at lvl 10, charging towards lvl 20! Themes will be somewhat different than previous campaigns as we focus on new foes that bring with them significant, more eldritch-flavored threats, and new regions to explore! There will be a healthy heaping of mind-twisting-effery. Those currently enjoying the mindflayer illusions and twistiness of Baldur's Gate 3 may find themselves right at home.
Highly recommend, I'm part of Late Wednesday. Fun-first, extremely reasonable DM. I've found it very interesting that the actions of a party from a different timeslot can affect our party. In my experience, the DM really loves bringing backstory elements into the story, which is always refreshing to see. Come join Late Wednesday if you want in on some morally gray fun!
Campaigns run by ThatBardThere get a solid 10 HOT FLAMING ELEMENTALS / 10!!! I'm part of Early Wednesday's crew of dynamic do-gooders and Early Monday's group and can vouch that these campaigns are worth every penny. ThatBardThere spins together masterpieces out of backstory and lore. As a player, I've always felt my character fit into the greater plot, with personal backstory being expertly woven in for greater depth and flavour. ThatBardThere is fair and accommodating, with just enough permisiveness to let the players be whacky and wild if they so choose - or not! It truly is a campaign that is sure to please anyone, be they lawful or chaotic, good or evil.
So, don't lollygag around! Join C4 in the exceptionally crafted world of Sephritair. I hope to see you as part of our crew!
i've been in these campaigns since c1! i'm a pretty nervous and introverted person by nature and honestly the cameraderie, belonging, and growth i've felt as a person and as a dnd player have been so wonderfully worth it, and the friends i've made as a result are a great bonus :) i'm part of late monday and late friday's groups and if you want a balance of silliness and drama, to feel important to the story, or even just a space to grow and experiment as a player, sephritair has a place for you!
I've been playing since campaign one. From the moment I joined I've had an amazing time thanks to the GM's warm and open demeanor. Story's enthusiasm for storytelling and roleplaying was infectious, setting the stage for an unforgettable campaign. I really enjoy Story's commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere. I feel that whether your a newcomer to dnd or a veteran for years you will be welcomed with open arms. Story meshes a balance between roleplay and combat which keeps your attention.
I just started on C3 and have had a deliriously fun time weaving a story with the early Wednesday slot. This group had a great balance of RP and combat and definitely our fair share of shenanigans. (Think flying giant scorpion with Kobold wizard slinging spells on top of it) And certainly our fair share of heartfelt moments. Definitely would recommend if you are looking to jump into a higher level campaign with a well established lore and characters. There is always room for you!
There are still just a few seats left in both monday and wednesday groups. Now that we're a few weeks in though, here are some brand new party-specific IC-ish ads to help illuminate exactly the kind of adventuring party you could be joining!!

Hello and Welcome to the Troupe Magnifique! Please sit back and enjoy the performance, and also... could you perhaps tell us where we are? Or um, help. HELP. Help?! We may have made a slight miscalculation on a job and not followed instructions, but how were we supposed to know touching the magical items they told us specifically not to touch would abscond us across planes and now there's a dragon and pirates and no civilization in sight and everyone is falling asleep and... but it's so nice to meet you! Maybe if we work together (mostly) we can get somewhere better before the world really starts going to poop. And then.. do something. Maybe even heroic! Ah heck but at least we put on a good show. Early Wednesday- Queen's Gambol
2:30pm Pacific/ 5:30pm Eastern
Heed Our Call to Arms! Join the Queen's Gambol! Brought forward to service by the call of our beloved and benevolent Queen Zaetha Melithedar, high seat of the Tiered Kingdoms, our small band of ...unique, skilled and quick-witted adventurers have been tasked with unraveling the quickly escalating "Slumbering Curse," which seems to be aflicting peoples all across the Shattered Planes. We seek aid from any heroes willing to make the journey with us to the space beyond, to find the source of this curse and vanquish it, before all falls to darkness! Those with magical, engineering, or piloting skills are espescially appreciated as we will need to /steal/ borrow a vessel for this purpose, in the name of the Queen! Please hurry and rally quickly to our call- as the Queen herself has been beset by this curse, and internal political machinations bear their own threat... should things carry on too long...
Late Wednesday- The Restless
7:30pm Pacific/ 10:30pm Eastern
Who the /bleep/ are you? I'm sorry, you haven't earned our names yet, but I guess you could call us The Restless. Yeah, we've noticed the whole world is falling asleep all around us and maybe we know a little something about what could be causing it, and might be seeking to...enrich our arsenal presently before we launch ourselves out there to murder this threat to our continued existance with extreme predjudice, but why should we add you to our little band? You're not another monster hunter are you? Because if you are you have to tell us and ...no. NO wait to stab the new person till AFTER we know they're here to hunt us, not before.... uh...sorry about that. Um. Here's a health potion. Anyways, I guess having one or two extra hands who can take a punch from whatever astral abhorational bull we're about to face down out there can't hurt our chances. Just don't expect us to sparkle in the sunlight or some other BS. & You do something dumb, we won't save you. Got it? Bonus points if you can heal or do some mage-crap. Cool. Now let's go.
I don't even know which one of these groups to recommend! Thus far, this is turning out to be such a dynamic campaign, with a story-line whose twists and turns manage to accommodate the interest and personality of every player character!
Also, the people are friendly and a joy to game with.
We're a lil over a month into the Fourth Campaign. From what I can take away so far are the below pros and cons.
Pros New player friendly, and parties have players of varying experience. Welcoming to a variety of people and playstyles. Great Art, for example the maps are really intricate Fun characters and setting (this is my favorite aspect of being a part of the world here) A very flexible and supportive DM Very communicative DM Lots of options for character building Lets the players play - could be good or bad depending on how you view this, ie the players can end up just RP'ing in a tavern for a whole session and hold an improv concert, or the PC's could end up being at each others throats over varying decisions -> one of my parties the bards bard alot, and the other party the schemer's do their best Mr Burns meme) The players are supportive and ohh so cleverly devious The world is a living world, and there is even interconnected situations between parties C4 appears to have a cool mystery abrewing and might get to see stuff you dont usually see in a typical DND game. (ie think less goblins, orcs or undead and more Trex, Aberrations or Faelike things) Get to play a high level campaign, with the hope and possibility of getting to L20. Combat is very dynamic and involves a variety of ways to handle it. A lot of the combats have a meaningful connection to the overarching plot. Actions have consequences! XD More Chaos Goblins PCs than Orderly Saints (i think)
Cons Most parties cap at 6, depending on your party/playstyle you may get less time to do stuff -Related to above, combat situations can take longer. -Related to above, when shenanigans or situations occur, it may take time to untangle. Depending on party, you might just RP the whole session without advancing any actions, but if you like this kind of of playstyle then its not a CON right? -Related to above, the typical session I think usually tries to keep a 70%/30% RP and Combatish balance. So if youre looking for heavy combat or combat once per session, you may not get combat for 2-3 sessions sometimes. Campaign can be "rules lenient", and can make certain situations uncomfortable when handling the rulings at times, esp during combat or tense IC situations. But the DM is generally willing to work out any misunderstandings or rule interpretations, but usually not right in the middle of intense circumstances. Coms is through discord, so sometimes with 6 people its hard to get input in when you want during a situation before the moment passes, but at the same time everyone tries not to step on each others toes so sometimes there's an awkward silence for example when the DM says What do you do now? 4 hour sessions, there is usually a break in the middle, but for some that might be a little long. Is a weekly game and must be punctual! If you havent used Roll20 before it can be a little daunting at first. Have to keep in mind the DM is busy organizing, planning and tracking multiple parties, players & npcs.
In summation: This campaign is fun and welcoming, but we can get absorbed in our RP'ing. This definitely makes the experience more meaningful and immersive but can be a slower burn. So if you like quality over quantity, or you love shenaniganry and plotting think about plane shifting on over. (Disclaimer - vibes and playstyle can vary from party to party so check with ThatBardThere for more info)
