Game: Paid Game - D&D 5e – Dragon of Icespire Peak – Beginners Welcome and Supported - Thursdays 3-6pm (PST) Group type: Online using Roll20 VTT/video and Discord for Voice/Chat. Experience: Beginners to Veterans welcome Location/Timezone: (PST) Schedule: Thursday Weekly with some breaks. 3-6pm PDT. Ok to miss some sessions. Roles sought: Seeking 2-4 more adventurers for weekly Thursday game. Session 0 tentatively set for Nov 16! We currently have 2 players signed up and waiting for comrades: A Human Paladin and a Wood elf Ranger. Game style: I like to play gritty games where the players feel like mortals in dire straits yet have those moments to shine heroically. I love to build worlds that are dark and mysterious, yet punctuated by humor, hope, and a tasteful bit of silliness. I do deep world building and use lots of NPCs. I also love combat, and especially love introducing role playing, terrain, and other elements into combat to make it more interesting. 34 years xp as a Dungeon Master. I can run a great campaign for you!
This is a great game for beginners but experienced players are welcome, and will appreciate my attention to detail.
Premade Characters will be made available so we can get right into the action. Best way to learn this game is to play it!
You are the Blades of Phandalin, a new posse of adventurers deputized by The Lord Protector of Neverwinter to guard the lawless frontier town of Phandalin from all threats. Now your skills will be tested...goblins and orcs have been prowling around the edges of the realm. Monsters are lucking in the hills and woods, but worse yet, a dragon has been seen flying over the peaks of the Sword Mountains. The people of Phandalin keep a weary eye on the skies these days. Livestock have started to come up missing. If it really is a dragon, people will be next.
This campaign will be a good mix of dungeon crawls, wilderness exploration, and role playing. I plan to run each game as an "episode", meaning each quest will be its own mission that starts and wraps up in 1-2 sessions. Your characters will begin at the fumbling, humble beginnings of 1st level, and advance to the solid veteran heights of 6th level by the end of our season. If we love who we have become, and I think we will, there will be options to take these characters into a new campaign and continue the story.
This is a campaign where you can easily drop in and out if you're not sure you can make every game.
Though episodic, the different adventures will have a coherent narrative that drives and connects them to give the whole thing a sense of purpose. Beginners will be welcomed and supported. Join us!
Side Note: Experienced players, please apply only if you enjoy playing with and supporting beginners:) Also, I will be using the Dragons of Icespire Peak for the material in this campaign.
