Hi! I'm looking to possibly take part in a new campaign c: I'd love to hear if anyone is looking for players!
About Myself: I'm a 31 year old female from the UK & I've been playing D&D 5e for over 5 years. I've always been an avid writer, roleplayer & have wanted to act professionally for the longest time. I pride myself on being able to write a convincing & interesting character, & love getting into their head space, developing them & also seeing what other players come up with in terms of their own characters, or what the DM brings to the table in terms of story & NPCs. I already play a couple of D&D games on Wednesday weekly & Saturdays twice a month. My goal is to hopefully find another campaign for myself to play in long-term & meet new, like minded people!
What I Seek: • System: D&D 5e (Homebrew World/Campaign & Long-Term) • Where: Discord for voice & camera (Cam is an absolute must for me - It makes things easier to see when people are trying to talk, when people do physical RP & it gives more of an authentic tabletop feel!) & Roll20 (I would be open to another platform though I have no experience with anything else.) I also use D&D Beyond for character sheets as I own most of the source books. (If a DM has a subscription to share a campaign with everyone, this is a bonus! But not a must.) • Time zone: England (GMT) • Availability: Ideally a day or evening in the week (Not Wed or Sat). Either bi-weekly or weekly. • Style: Very RP heavy player who absolutely loves character interactions & development, with a good understanding of mechanics & rules. • Game Style Ideal: A rich, homebrew world of deep lore & intrigue, with a narrative driven DM and like-minded players. A DM who is willing to incorporate character backstories & lore into their world. With a focus on story-telling, meaningful combat & loot, PC character arcs that feel authentic, detailed description, & well thought out characters. That said, I still enjoy combat & puzzles, I just like it to feel organic & for it to have a reason. I'm also open to romance either with NPCs or other PCs, so long as everyone is comfortable with it, but again, it needs to feel natural & be something built up over time ( it will never be overly played out, or go into too much detail.) • Character Style: I honestly have a ton of character ideas at any one time :p I'm currently playing Grave Cleric & a Divination Wizard. I tend to lean toward casters, & enjoy playing healers/supports (though I'm pretty much open to playing any class so long as I can create a good story/character!) I tend to build characters from a concept perspective first, having a small idea of their story and/or personality, before matching them with a cool class and race. (I will only use official or UA races or classes, and prefer homebrew is kept at a minimum in this regard.) I send my DMs a backstory document & an appearance document with inspiration images/descriptions included, & can willingly provide them from an already existing character if you'd like an idea of what sort of characters I build. • Deterrents: Combat for the sake of combat (murder-hobo-ness), loot for the sake of loot/greed, dungeon delving with no purpose or reason, things happening for no reason, no plot-hooks, antagonistic PCs for no reason, Paid Games. • Character/Game Inspirations: Critical Role, Game of Thrones, The Witcher (TV series), Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate 3. • Rolling: In terms of rolling dice, I would ideally like to roll my own as I have quite a collection (and nothing beats rolling dice in person.) I understand this can be looked upon unfavourably, but I would like to think I'm honest & I think the low rolls are just as fun as the high ones. This is also another reason cam is a big deal for me, as you can see my reactions to certain rolls. I simply don't want to use a bot roller of any kind, hopefully that's understandable. • Group Ages: Ideally I would like a group in the range of my age. Definitely 18+, though ideally from mid- 20s to mid-40s.
If you have an open game and we sound like a good fit, please send me a DM c:
Hi, i have read through your post and although we dont use video call and the homebrew element is new to us, we do like to RP heavily and i as a DM love to implement characters backstories into any module i run. I think that gives the campaign an extra twist within the module, gives me as the DM to potentially use it against the pc for bad or good times. Gives them a sense of secrecy waiting to be unlocked. We tend to play campaigns that are all rounded, from combat to exploring, to problem solving and just having a good time. We are relatively new to D&D, with 3 of us (Including myself) having just played for about a year. Still learing the ropes as a now forever DM, but i enjoy the immersion and would love to find someone who can help the new players push their boundaries and develop their RP capabilities. We are currently running Curse of Strahd, which im sure you are familiar with. Its a great dark campaign, its hard to push the horror element, but i like to think as a DM i do a great job. I love feedback and i am always open to constructive critisism. I understand that some of the things you are looking for arent really what we do, but i would love to hear back from you and maybe ask some questions and see if its something you would be interested in joining.
Hello friend! From the sounds of it you might be a good fit for one of the games I run. I run several games a week, they are paid games as it's my full time job, if that's not a deal breaker for you then I'd love to DM you more info! :D
