I am checking interest in a "Spelljammer Academy Adventures" themed style game. I am a dm since 2024 but I have been playing TTRPG off and on since 2008. I just got some free time at the moment to start another campaign. This one is newbie friendly/experienced friendly game. What does that mean? The way I have this set up is we will start with adventures that will bring the players from level 1-3. During those levels, there is little to no fear of something disastrous happening. Once you reach level 3, the "bumbers" come off and we get into a story that develops from the players backstories and shenanigans you bring to the table.
If you are a rules lawyer player, you are welcome but one warning, I make decisions on the fly depending on what happens. Call it rule of cool or whatever but I ask you wait until session is done and you may privately message me after about a question. I won't waste time arguing a rule with you. It happens, bye! I am too old to deal with it and young enough to not care.
Anyway, where was I? Oh you probably have questions about the campaign itself.
All the characters have volunteered, for whatever reason, to join Spelljammer Academy: a shadowy enclave of spellcasters and swords-for-hire situated on the remote and mysterious island of Nimbral. Promising recruits are trained here under the tutelage of experienced spelljammers, who prepare fledgling spacefarers for the perils of Wildspace and the Astral Sea. Cadets learn the finer points of ship-to-ship combat, space exploration, and (in some cases) clandestine operations. The newest batch of recruits has just arrived after a long, arduous sea voyage, but there’s still much to do! Although it’s business as usual at Spelljammer Academy, the new cadets soon learn that strange things are afoot. Will they stand up to snuff or flunk out of Orientation?
If you made it this far, congrats you are invited to Orientation...message me "Orientation" either on discord or here to get a quicker reply.
For your characters, I need a level 1 character. Homebrew/Third Party allowed under my review. Stats will be rolled. You will roll 4d6 for each stat (6 stats so 6 times) and drop the lowest of the set. I will allow rerolls of any 1s.
For the game, I will use discord for voice and roll20 for maps. I am not the best at making maps but I will do the best with what I can do especially with the Spelljammer setting. We will play for about 3-4 hours depending on when I see the best time for a cliffhanger or rest.
If you have any questions or are interested, feel free to message me here or at my discord which is kingbuddy2010.
