Trying to learn to teach my wife and kids

My wife really likes the idea of playing dnd I’ve played warhammer off and on for about 20 years I’ve never played dnd before not that I never wanted to growing up in Alaska it’s hard enough to get a game of 40K let alone dnd most people don’t bother with such things. My wife really wants to play but doesn’t know where to start I’ve watched videos on YouTube but don’t feel like I can even guide her through her and the kids first experience well enough for them to want to do it again i want to learn this as a gift to her and the kids and be able to successfully give her something she’s always wanted to try please someone help me out I’ve played board games for quite some time this is just more story in Depth than I’m used to. 
If you’ve made it this far than thank you already hope to maybe get a play through or just some good advice on how to proceed. Thanks again. Michael 

Hello, I might be able to help you. We are building a new Discord community for online play. Most of us are based in Europe, so if you can make it work with our time zones, you're more than welcome to join. We plan to have mostly one-shots and short campaigns run on the server. I'm a DM from Brazil, my timezone is gmt-3, it'll be a pleasure to make a game for you and your family, I taught me wife, my mother in law and some work friends that wanted to learn how to play, and they LOVED it. I'm even teaching English to my wife using DnD as you have to talk a lot, which really helps with the conversation part.

I'm a DM because I like being the DM, so it will always be free to play on my tables.
