Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: 11 years Location/Timezone: CST Schedule: Currently planning on playing Tuesdays at 5pm. We can start later if need be. Roles sought: 2 - 5 players of any skill level Game style: High role-play, exploration encouraged, character-focused story
Good day, prospective adventurer! My name is Arc and I have been running D&D since 2013. I have six completed long-term campaigns under my belt, and now i'm starting up my most recent venture. This is a paid game and it will be run on Tuesdays at around 5pm CST. I would like for the campaign to take players from level 1 to level 20, and there is always enough going on for us to run this game for as long as we desire. I love taking the time and effort to craft a long and complex campaign for my players to enjoy, and nothing pleases me more than my players taking actions that affect the wider world forever and that carry on into games that take place in the world in the future.
So, speaking of the world, what about it? I'll try to keep it brief while keeping only to the most important info to give you an idea of the world you might be playing in.
This is the world of Cor, and it is dying. It is a world plagued by chaos with villains lurking around every corner. The King of Devils, Desmond, is forever seeking to corrupt and control mortal souls to maintain the balance of power between himself, his infernal court, the gods of the Farworld, and the Demons of the Demon Realm. The God of the Demon Realm, Shunoros, is out to enslave every other race of mortal and immortal alike with his own brand of pain-based communion. The ruthless and pious Father Ekkhard Fareburg plots in his high tower of Novus Autor'an, seeking to bring the disparate peoples of Cor together under a single banner, united in perfect monolithic order. Worst of all is the Lord of all Undead, the God of Darkness, Phobos. The Dead Lord is constantly seeking out greater power for the purpose of destroying the divine hierarchy, causing chaos and destruction so that he might remake the entire world, outer planes and all, in his own image as a place of endless pain, death, and servitude... and with more heroes falling every day, it looks like he's going to succeed if someone doesn't step up and stop him. Whether you stand against the darkness or exploit it for your own personal gain will be up to you should you decide to play!
There are many more grand villains in the world, some of whom are even former player characters. Phobos and Father Fareburg are examples of such villains who were once PC's played by someone in my group. There are also smaller threats more suitable for a lower level party, of course. As the world inches closer to its demise, there are many who seek to secure their own futures!
Before I ran D&D, I wrote about this world in the hopes of one day creating my own fantasy epic, but I have found much more fulfillment in running my own D&D games in this world. Every group that has played in Cor has helped me develop the lore through their own backstories and actions during our games. Out of the six campaigns i've run and completed, four of them have taken place in Cor, and each group has created a lasting impact on the place. Whole kingdoms, gods, lords and ladies, the very shape of the world itself, its all been shaped by my players from that very simple initial concept that I created when I was a kid.
If you want a character-focused game with high role-play set in a world that has been painstakingly crafted over a decade, with choices that matter and will shape the world permanently, this just might be the game for you! I have a listing through StartPlaying where you can join up. That will have a link to the discord and the VTT. Sessions will be $10 per player, with Session 0 being free since little to no gameplay will actually occur that session. In addition, the first session is half off for early birds!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I'm here to help. Thanks for reading. c:
