The rattling and clanking of the carriages off set the unease and discomfort that the caravan held. The eerie aura of dread that hung over the passengers clung to the air like a thick smog. Escorted hastily through uneven roads parents threw clothes over the eyes of children, and even the more stoic of the crowd averted their gazes from the rising smoke in the towns left behind. The attack was sudden, unannounced, and lightning fast. Before anyone even had time to react buildings were burning, people were screaming, and the strong of will arming themselves.

Fleeing was your only option. For now at the very least, but whatever emotions left in your heart unprocessed will surely begin to fester. Whether in resentment towards the demons that had torn your happy world asunder, or in guilt in the lack of steel in your heart one thing was for certain; You'll be back.

The Kingdom of Yor is in need of adventurers and heroes in these die times, as cities all across the kingdoms lands were demanded to make haste towards the walled capital by the southern waters. Monsters and demons appearing seemingly out of nowhere, magical creatures growing nomadic and departing from homes making once thought safe roads unpassable. Where did these creatures come from? What spurred on this sudden assault on a once peaceful land? The world is looking to you to uncover the answers to these questions, and perhaps mend any old wounds that linger in yourself in the process.

Hey everyone! If this excerpt has managed to gather your interest than I'd be more than happy to hear from you! I've been a DM for a little over 12 years now and have run quite a few campaigns lasting over 2-3 years each, sometimes simultaneously. Currently I am looking to fill out a group to run the above story that I've written out.

Now, what can you expect from me as a DM? Quite a lot! I put a lot of effort into interweaving characters into the plot and providing a bit of extra stakes into the things the party chooses to pursue. I may not be the apex of funny voices, but I do put a genuine effort into making the NPCs (enemies included!) feel lively and real. You can expect visual maps, tokens, assets, well-articulated descriptions, and my personal favorite: unique combat. I tend to run things on a slightly grander scale when it comes to character combat, not in terms of the quantity of tokens but adding unique and original monsters & mechanics that the players can work through in real time!

Note, that I am still determining which VTT we will be using. Either Roll20 or Foundry. Voice we will be using Discord!

Our plan is to establish start date/ session times that work for everyone at the table but times will be in EST after working hours.. 6pm onward or over weekends. A typical session runs for 4 hours.

This campaign will be flexible in terms of what it provides in the percentages of combat/exploration/RP as I don't force any decisions on players and allow the party to pursue the stories and threads in whatever order they find interesting. However that doesn't mean I don't have some expectations for players myself! I don't require people to do accents or character voices but I do expect the majority of conversation at the table to be done in character. Obviously, we're all here to have a good time so don't feel like you can't make jokes or anecdotes as we go, but I do want people to have a feeling of confidence that they can pursue a story with seriousness and be met with that same energy and excitement from the rest of their friends at the table 🙂
