We’re a group of 5 players looking for a fun and creative DM for an online game. We’ve been thinking about running A Tyranny of Dragons, and now we’re looking for a DM who’s a good fit to run the adventure for us. We have the sourcebook in PDF form and can provide it to the DM if required, as well as a DM-level Roll20 subscription, so no cost should be required by the DM.

We’re hoping to play weekly on Monday evenings around 7pm EST, but there’s some flexibility in time if needed.  We’re a mature group of players (everyone’s 30+) and are looking for same from our DM. We’re also all friends and/or family, so there’s no danger of the interpersonal drama that can come from a game with a bunch of strangers.

Below are a couple of things we’re looking for in a DM. Everything’s up for discussion when we find someone, but some things to consider:

• Knowledge of the rules, but willing to make allowances for the “rule of cool” and player creativity.
• We want to follow the story obviously, but not looking to be railroaded or rushed.
• Hoping for someone who enjoys a good mix of the 3 pillars of play: exploration, social interaction and combat.
• Creativity, and an enjoyment and willingness to incorporate characters’ backstories into the narrative.
• Some use of Homebrew – both on our side and by the DM. (player homebrew can obviously be approved/vetted by the DM, and if the DM wants to use some homebrew monsters, items, encounters, etc. that’s great)
• Rolling for stats. We’ve got the Avrae dice roller in our discord, and would like to roll for stats, with the option of point-buy/standard array if those stats are completely terrible. Lol
• If possible, we’d like the option of rolling physical dice. Again, being a group of mature players, we realize that failure is part of the fun in these games, but there’s also nothing like rolling real dice!
