Hey all. I've gotten the chance to familiarize myself with DnD systems (5E atleast) , and actually play a few games so i'm now looking to play more of it, I have a particular interesting in playing any DnD settings outside of the Forgotten Realms. Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Birthright, Eberron, Spelljammer, Planescape, and Al-Qadim are really cool to me.
I'm open to any edition of the game, having only gotten the chance to play 5E so far i'd love to get to play more of it, or 3.5E, or Pathfinder.
Typically i'm unavailable from 11AM-8PM EST on weekdays (This varies, right now i'm free on tuesdays), outside of that i think i can manage most any time, i have other games scheduled on saturdays (Every other week) and sundays so i might have to be more precise with my hours on those days. i'm interested in late night stuff the most, but i understand that scheduling can be one of the biggest barriers when it comes to actually getting to play a game.
I don't specifically have too many comments when it comes to playstyle, i'm mostly 50/50 on combat and roleplay so far, i'll need more experience if i ever want to settle on focusing on one over the other, i'm still learning. The only real preference i have when it comes to the games themselved is that i prefer a chill enviroment, something done just for fun, but still having effort put into it by myself atleast.
I'm specifically interested in one of DnD's many settings that aren't played quite as much as the others seem to, in 5E or otherwise, although Ravenloft seems to be exceedingly popular in the form of Curse of Strahd. I like the tone and settings of these worlds that have more limitations and opportunities for exploration than other settings. Necessity is the mother of invention, and putting yourself in a peculiar world leads to peculiar roleplaying with peculiar characters. I love Ravenloft's Castlevania aesthetic, Birthright's Fire Emblem feel, Eberron's charming steampunk world, Al-Qadim and OA's focus on non-western fantasy, and the sheer weirdness of Planescape.
In addition to this i've also been interested in learning to DM myself, and i somewhat plan on taking on the task of running one of these in the future, so i might appreciate little tips here and there.
If you feel like having me as a player in one of your games, feel free to give me a message, on here or at Discord @claymationcourtyard i'd love to discuss details. Regardless, have a good day.
