Group type: Online only
Experience: DM with a few years of experience (Veteran player in multiple editions except 4, shudder)
Location/Timezone: CST, in the Greater St Louis area, so using this as our "focal point"
Schedule: every other Wednesday, 6-9 CST (the goal)
Roles sought: looking for 3-5 players, 18 yrs old or older
Game style: I am fairly casual but stick more to the rules-as-written, but have flexed based on situation; I encourage a more balanced style that incorporates all three tiers (exploration, social interaction and combat)

Greetings everyone. I am looking to start a new group, as I don’t get to play enough and DM’ing is the closest I can get. 😊 I am an average DM (mostly a player but have branched out to DM'ing again over the past 2 years or so). I am predominantly a PG-13 DM, but can tone down as needed.

This is not a “pay to play” type of search. I want players to feel relaxed but excited to play. My primary rule is respect for all players (and DM) and am pretty inclusive. I am looking for people who are interested in having fun and encourage a good narrative story, they we showcase together. I don’t mind if you are experienced or are a brand-new player (would be fun to have all new players).

I am looking to start a new campaign at 1 level. Character options would be from most of the core D&D books (PHB, XGtE, TCoE), but will count some stuff from DND Beyond (like Critical Role). If you join, we can do a session zero event where we can meet in a chat room to all talk together, so if we could be a good fit for each other (everyone must be comfortable enough with each other first). I use Roll20 for digital maps, with Discord for Audio. I have lots of options for things to “run” but nothing set in mind right now; would expand on that based on comfort level of the players. However, likely to start with an existing module and branch out from there.

Basic non-negotiable rules to play:

1. We have fun (this is a game)
2. We respect all people at the virtual table.

same character from module to module/whatever or can roll a new character up?

No set module in mind, whatever works based on character interest. I like the idea of keeping characters and building them up but not tied to that. 

I am also CST, but i am on the Kansas side. 

Looking for a new long term campaign as one of mine just ended after a year and half.

Is CR content allowed like gunslinger and bloodhunter?

Greetings. Yes, CR stuff should be mostly ok. I updated the thread above. 

I'm fine with your timezone, but do you have a story prepared? Or at least a genre? 

I do not have a storyline or have chosen a specific adventure module picked at this time. I have multiple options available, that we could pick based on character interest; whether there is a WOTC campaign module of the published adventures, a smaller campaign option, several adventures linked together in one of the settings (I like FR mostly), adaptions of previous edition modules or a complete homebrew mash up of ideas. 

The intent here is to garner interest, determine level of experience, then select something to play and build from there. I tried providing more structure with my first group, with some success. This opportunity provides more choice to interested players. 

Would I need to buy any books or are they optional, that's all the questions I got. :D

RadBlaze, greetings. Yes, I do not have any of the electronic versions in DND Beyond to share, but do use the Campaign builder option. So if you would build somewhere else and post in there, or do an electronic PDF version and email to me, we could work it that way.
