Pitch: You have just been hired by Gundren Rockseeker to take a wagon full of provisions to the nearby town of Phandalin. However, there's more to this quaint mining town than meets the eye, and there's more to Gundren Rockseeker than it seems. Full of goblins, bandits, and intrigue, The Lost Mine of Phandelver has withstood the test of time and makes lifelong fans out of first-time players. As your DM in this campaign for levels 1-5, I'll provide an RP-heavy, rules-light adventure for you and your fellow players to help you fall in love, as I have, with the world's greatest roleplaying game. Experienced GMs and players might also appreciate the additional twists and new content from Neverwinter that will be added to the game if the adventurers defeat the notorious Black Spider, so please book your seat, sharpen your swords, and prepare for an exciting, legendary adventure!
Other Notes: As your DM, I'll ensure that you'll have a comfortable environment to roleplay and explore the limits of storytelling. Unearthed Arcana and WOTC material is acceptable for character creation, but feel free to send me a message with any other questions you might have.
Thanks, and hope to hear from you soon!

About the Game Master
Hello, there!
My name's Karen (they/them), but you can also call me “Kaleiyah” or “KP.” I've been playing fifth-edition Dungeons and Dragons since 2018. In addition to critting from either side of the DM/GM screen, I enjoy crafting fiction, cooking, cartomancy, composing music, and completing my video game collection.
I run RP-heavy campaigns with a dash of fun and some occasional Rule of Cool. One thing that differentiates me from other DM/GMs is that I started out as DM/GM rather than as a Player. I've carried this same initiative, drive, and enthusiasm even into my former job as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan and as an MFA graduate in Creative Writing.
Something else you should know is that all proceeds from games will go towards the Captured Phantoms "Pay It Forward" Fund. This fund helps subsidize the cost of coaching, consultations, critiques, and editorial services for marginalized and underrepresented storytellers of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, speculative, and commercial fiction. So, by rolling some dice and enjoying some storytelling with me, you're encouraging future storytelling for the great BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
Dungeons and Dragons as well as other TTRPGs allow us to become more creative and empathetic in a world that says we have to give up childhood play once we blow out a certain number of candles on our birthday cake. To that, I say, “Nay!” and welcome you on what I hope to be a wonderful adventure for you and your next character.
