Looking For 4-6 Players for Vecna Eve of Ruin Thursdays around 8pm CT Starting May 16 Playing Online through Discord and VTT Gameplay to be streamed on Twitch
We're looking for 4-6 players who would be available on Thursday's with a start time around 8pm CT, running for about three hours per session. I would expect game sessions to start right around the release date of the 21st, and am expecting about 20 to 25 sessions (will depend a lot on what the players do.) This game will be streamed on Twitch, so interested players should have a good internet connection, reasonable audio and webcam.
If you're interested in playing, but worried that you might look foolish on stream, here is the first time I was playing with this community a few years back. (Most of them had never heard my actual voice prior to this.) https://www.twitch.tv/twentysidestoeverystory/clip/DoubtfulViscousTermitePrimeMe In spite of that they still welcomed me to keep playing with them, so they're a pretty chill crew.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in please join us in the discord: https://discord.gg/twentysidestoeverystory Say hello and we'll talk to see if it seems like a good fit.
Quick Q. "Thursdays around 8pm CT Starting May 16" is that Central Time. As in the areas of Canada/USA that move between . Central Standard Time is UTC-6, & Central Daylight Time is UTC-5. (i.e. this post is at midnight pacific standard time. which i think is 2am your time then?). With I think right now beint UTC-5? So given that number of sessions, the expected amount of time would be until around October (i.e. will end before the next Daylight savings).
Asking for clarity so I can see if it'll work with my new job's potential schedule.
Thanks for the question. 8pm Central Time and we're in an area that does change the clocks. If you're in the same time zone as California you'd be seeing a 6pm PT start time.
(We use CT in the discord as that is where a good chunk of the community and its organizer lives, I happen to be on the East Cost of the US so I'm up a little late on game nights. If a few minutes would make a difference on you being able to play I can wiggle back to a 8:30pm start time if it works for the other players, but much later and I start yawning through my villain monologues.)
I won't have access to the Book until release on May 21st, so there may be some curveballs thrown at that time but...
My normal rules are anything officially published by WotC (no homebrew / Unearthed Arcana) for our streamed games. The game starts in the Forgotten Realms / Sword Coast area, but goes planes hopping after that so I'd encourage PC races / classes that make sense for the Forgotten Realms. If there is something you have in mind that would stretch credulity we can talk it through to see if it would fit.
The characters wouldn't know it, but based on the preview you'll also be making at least short stop-over in the Domains of Dread, so anything that can't pass as human could be a pretty severe disadvantage. (Though for some reason every time I mention that to players the immediately generate the least humanoid characters they can dream up.)
Hello! I am Nick a experienced D&D player with roughly 8-9 years of experience mostly as the DM. I am looking for a chill group to roleplay with. I’m a understanding player who will work with my DM to make a interesting and fun character. My discord name is devilishdm , I’m dedicated and will be punctual and communicative. I’m very used to home brew content as I use it in my campaigns I’m also willing to do a interview with you so you can get a grasp on what kind of person/player I am
Hi Everybody, Thanks all for the interest. Going to leave this open until Monday for folks that are interested, then selecting the players for this campaign. So far Thursdays at 8pm CT seems like the day we'll be playing on.

It certainly sounds really fun and neat. Currently that time sounds perfectly fine. I am a bit hesistant due to the potential of a new job title next month (Won't know for a few weeks), as I don't know if that would change hours.
Would love to play, However, given the potential risk on schedule switch if I get promoted. Im not sure its the best plan unfortunately. It is a bit of a bummer that the timing doesn' align perfectly for when I'll know (mid may probably). I'lll have to catch the streams though if you need an alternate, or don't mind the risk in timing. Let me know .
I'm Z. I've played 5E here and there, though never with a camera on me before. I've also pretty unable to do alternative voices, though occasionally try haha. I've played a lot more Pathfinder (over a decade now). So I don't know a ton of 5E's actual Lore. I'm in my 30s. and I'm a librarian. As a player, I value being the side character more than being a lead. I always enjoy the side characters who pull some good stuff and watch the other's back. I tend to value versatility in form. (given the chance I'd probably wanna play an Alchemist Artificer of some sort. fav class and aesthetic).
As a sidenote from what I understand, the Discord group in general play games of and on. So would future opporutnies in general be on said discord?
Generally we do a first round of recruiting within the Discord group, then call out to other areas as needed. So if you're not able to make this game keep an ear on the discord LFG channel for more. We also post up calls for our one-shots and short campaigns there.
Re: Alternate Voices Not required at all. I happen to enjoy attempting and failing them on a regular basis. I do have a preference for people speaking in first person / as their character during conversations for roleplay, but you don't need to do a voice for it.
Re: Lore No real lore required. Your characters will likely be in their 20s so they'd remember being young and having the family/friends worried about dragons, then giants, then elementals, then mysterious deaths, then eternal winter, then being dragged to the hells, but for the last 5 years there hasn't been a huge world ending disaster. We'll fill in any lore details as needed, but that last sentence is probably enough to get by in the world if your character hasn't traveled / researched extensively (and we can fake it if they have.)
Thanks! Casey

Hey! I´m interested! What more can you tell me about it? Like is there any restrictions coming to races classes or subclasses
