Campaign Synopsis
Welcome to Phandalin, a rough-and-tumble frontier town nestled in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. Built on the ruins of a much older settlement, rumors of buried riches and untapped ore veins have attracted centuries of treasure seekers and opportunists to the region who have had little luck in striking it rich. In the past few years these rumors have started up again, centered on the Rockseeker brothers who claim to have discovered an old family stronghold and mine in the mountain; lost and forgotten after the attack that destroyed the original Phandalin settlement.
Such rumors always seem to bring their share of trouble, this time in the form of a band of scoundrels calling themselves the Redbrands. In the absence of any local lord or authority, the ruffians have run roughshod over the town. To compound matters, there are rumors of multiple dragons moving into the region. One dragon would be bad enough but more means territorial war with cities caught in the middle, with little in the way to defend themselves as others monsters are displaced from their lairs and nests.
An adventurer will require good planning, quick thinking, and no small amount of luck to see themselves through this gauntlet of troubles, but great rewards await those cunning or heroic enough to survive!
About Me
Hello all, my name is Pax (Cody) and I'll (hopefully) be your new game master! I've been running games regularly since 2008, but really sharpened my skills when I started GMing for Adventurer's League in early 2015. Since then I've run at least two games a week with many successful campaigns along the way. I have a wealth of experience taking established modules and tweaking them to run more smoothly, better invest the characters in the narrative, and expound on the content for a more dynamic and impactful story. If you're looking for a reliable GM with a strong grasp of the rules, experience with large groups, enjoys teaching new players, and has a fondness for emergent storytelling, look no further! https://startplaying.games/gm/paxvale
Why pay to play?
Many of us have had the experience of signing up for a new campaign, whether it be online or in person, and it's either full before you get a chance to sign up, poorly managed, or only lasts a handful of sessions before either the GM or the players lose interest. Having a paid GM avoids a lot of those hassles. Paying for games creates a financial incentive, for both players and GMs, to make sure that everyone shows up, on time, and ready to play. I also provide access to my D&D catalogue for all of my campaigns and do my level best to make sure that everyone walks away from my sessions having had a great time.
The adventure continues with the looming threat of the Black Spider sending assassins after our heroes as they race to discover the location of the Forge of Spells, while the continued clashing of the dragons Cryovain and Venomfang take a worsening toll on the region.
Suffering from recent losses, our brave heroes are putting out a call to arms for adventurers far and wide. Come to Phandalin to seek your fortune, liberate the land, and forge your destiny!
Our current party is: * Khadiz - Halfling Rogue 1 / Artificer 2 * Zilxim - Gnome Divination Wizard 3
