Game style: This game is specifically intended for brand new Dungeons & Dragons players! If you have never played D&D before, but are eager to learn after enjoying Baldur's Gate 3, Critical Role, Dimension 20, etc., then you've come to the right place.

You do not need to know ANYTHING about Dungeons & Dragons to start playing! This game is designed to organically teach you the rules and the basics of gameplay, so that you can jump into other games with a little experience under your belt.

When you sign up for this session, you will be asked to fill out a consent checklist form, the details of which can be discussed for clarification on an individual basis. During the game, players will be provided with a green, yellow, and red token, which they can place on the virtual tabletop to signal their comfort level with any given situation.

In order to empower you to jump straight into the game and Start Playing™️, I will provide a series of pre-generated characters for you to choose from. Building characters in D&D can be intimidating when you're first starting out (and that's to say nothing of how time consuming the process can sometimes be)!

At the start of the game, each player will choose one character from a selection of 13. You will be provided with a simplified character sheet containing all of the information you may need to know during the game in an easy-to-understand format. I will use the gameplay to organically teach you what each part of your character sheet means and how it's used. The only thing you'll need to do is name your character!

What to Expect
This game is a standalone story - also called a "one-shot". You will get to dip your toes into D&D, learn the basic rules, and try your hand at roleplaying, to whatever extent you are comfortable! There will be characters to interact with, monsters to fight, and puzzles to solve. We will take things slowly and deliberately to ensure that everyone is provided with ample space to learn. There are no stupid ideas, and no stupid questions!

If you are a D&D veteran, this game is probably not a good fit for you. That being said, veterans who are hoping to support a friend learning for the first time are always welcome to join in!
