I'm a new DM just trying to get back into the game, I've run a game with some friends in college and have played a few different characters myself. I prioritize fun and interaction between players and the world, so encounters will be based on the motivation of the hostile entities or a direct consequence of player actions, so identifying the reason can give you a way out without killing everyone, if that's more your speed. First few sessions will just be getting together so everyone can get to know each other and I can get an idea of what sort of game everyone is wanting to play. I can be pretty flexible, so whether you want a dark horror mystery, traditional high fantasy adventure, or just a slapstick comedy romp through the woods, I can figure something out for that.
Ask about weird character ideas, too! Pretty much anything on dandwiki.com is fair game (within reason, please don't try to make anything too out of left field, like a pokemon or an MLP character) and I'm open to talk about rebalancing and technicalities. Bring me your spoon wizards, your skooma addict tabaxi, or barbarian with perpetual vertigo, and be prepared for some backstory and RP! I don't need a full page and a half for every character, but getting a rough idea will help me get things in order for the actual campaign.
I follow the rule of cool, if you roll a natural 20 you do it, no matter how dumb or outlandish (though I will veto some things, like "I want to roll to luck my way to level 20" or "roll to pull a fully charged genie out of my ass") it will succeed, but beware of the consequences! If you luck out and manage to destroy an entire dungeon in a single punch to a load-bearing pillar, sure you'll get some xp, but not as much as actually clearing it, and any loot or NPCs inside will be lost.
Fair warning though, I do try to keep things professional(ish) but if you line me up for a dirty joke, I will most likely run with it as far as I can, and off a cliff. i.e. don't point out how you're watching a party member bathe to "look for weaknesses" or I will tell you that you find two. Very big ones. And they might not be the ones you'd like.
More specifically, I'd like to play a Drow Rogue who was adopted by a dwarven couple. Perfectly normal and happy childhood, but now he's adventuring to find rare gems for his jeweler father as an apology after getting into a spat with him.
Hi Helios, are you still looking for players? If so, I’d like to toss my hat in the ring. You can find me on discord as luminouspudding. Hope to hear from you soon!

All player slots have been filled so far, will update if enough people lose interest or can't make it anymore for one reason or another.Room for a couple more players, could use a more dedicated tank or healer if interested.
