I am an experienced DM with about 30 years of D&D under my belt. I currently run a game on Sundays from 3pm-9pm EST on Discord (full, but keep an eye in case I post a seat opening).
I am looking for a group that I can play in for once, but I am not opposed to having a group setup where we alternate games every so often and I run something during one of those time segments. I am available most nights, EST, after 7pm with exception given to my current campaign times.
If you have an open seat and are interesting in adding a player that loves to immerse in RP or just want to shop talk, please reach out to me on Discord.

I am also workshopping an Eberron-type game in a homebrew world where I will be tabling 4-6 players. This will run entirely on Discord and is designed for player immersion. Discord will have writings posted by me as Flavor between sessions, and it will require participation in the form of posting a "journal entry" in response once every 2 weeks of about a paragraph. This helps you keep up with your character and me keep the plot hooks relevant as your characters evolve.
This will run bi-weekly, Saturday evenings from 7pm-11pm EST. Please do not apply if you are not free for this timeframe. The characters cannot be NE or CE alignment, and you are considered "good" in relation to how you treat your companions. Example, you are lawful neutral in general, but LG when talking to your team. Chaotic neutral in general, but chaotic good when talking to your team. This is to show the commeraderie you developed in the backstory.
To apply for a seat, send me a private message with what you enjoy most about D&D campaigns (combat, role playing, skills, etc.), how much, if any, experience you have, what your fantasy book or movie is, and what type of classes you enjoy playing. Please do not simply respond to this post. I will probably ignore you because you aren't following directions.
If you're accepted, there will be a session zero where we roll characters and discuss roles in the party. You then have a week to generate a backstory and send it to me so I can begin writing the character-led plot hooks. Below is the summary of the world. This game is dark, so I am asking for players to be 21+ so we can avoid questions of being appropriate. The game concept is designed to be emotional and carry the weight of guilt and hopelessness in some areas. There will be many adult themes common to wars and conflicts that generally can cause discomfort. Please be mature about it and not ruin the experience with tasteless humor.
Table Rules:
1. No disrespecting others. This will not have any warnings before being ejected. Basically, if you make someone feel uncomfortable in the setting, you're out.
2. No murder hobos or purposefully stupid gameplay. Play the game seriously, for the sake of everyone that wants to enjoy themselves.
3. Show up. Miss a session, miss the exp. Miss 3 over 6 months, find a new group. Life happens, but we're trying to do something fun and attendance affects everyone. We run if 3 or more players attend.
Game: The Children of the Left
Among the continent of Elasia were 3 distinct kingdoms: the Free Peoples of Goldfeather in the south, the Eternal Kingdom of Llyr in the center, and the 12 great tribes in the north.
30 years ago, a war broke out as the Eternal Kingdom rose up to expand its borders and seize the whole continent. The Free Peoples were quickly defeated, so the EK looked north. However, the only direct land passage was through the Valley of the Stone Kings, a large Dwarven stronghold that made passage of large armies difficult and easy to ambush.
Time and again over 15 years, the EK pushed north only to be thrown back as they attempted to pass the Valley. The King of the EK called upon his personal army, the King's Right Hand, and requested a strategy to overcome the tribes of the north. He was ultimately convinced to create another army, the King's Left, which used subversion tactics to weaken enemies from within.
This army was conscripted from orphans, outcastes, children and young people too old to be considered an adult in their cultures. They were beaten, broken down, and rebuilt as violent and cold assassins for the Kingdom, then were smuggled into the northern tribes to sow discord.
They were ultimately very successful, and the Right was eventually able to break through the valley and seize control of the tribes, one by one. The continent was now the Eternal Empire, with Goldfeather being its southern province, Llyr as its capital in the center of the continent, and the tribes being renamed northern kingdoms. The King of Llyr became the first Emperor, the Golden Emperor.
Then, only a few short years later, the Emperor died of illness. His son rose to power, a kinder and gentler man, the Benevolent Emperor. In his time, he disbanded the Left and forbade the members from practicing combat as a form of work--no guards, no mercenaries, no transfers to the Right. He allowed Goldfeather to select a ruler and the Northern Kingdoms to maintain their individual customs as long as they formed a council of their leaders, elected someone to represent them, and sent them to Llyr as an ambassador of their needs. Thus, the Eternal Council was born.
10 years passed, and the Empire saw unprecedented peace. Then, suddenly, the Benevolent Emperor was assassinated, and with no heir, rulership fell to his younger brother. He accused the Northern Kingdoms of treachery and banished their ambassador from the Eternal Council, sparking a new conflict.
He recalled the remaining members of the Left to reform and beging their march on the Northern Kingdoms to bring low the leaders that slew his beloved other brother. The drums of war thunder in the distance, and the continent begins to cower in fear of its effects.
You were a child soldier of the Left, trained mercilessly in combat, committing atrocious acts before you were old enough to be an adult, then forbade from being what you were trained to be. What have you been doing these last 10 years? Did you ever reconcile with yiurself what you had done? Will you be able to accomplish your orders without becomming the monster you once were, or are you destined to be once more soaked in the blood of innocents in the name of your country?
