Game: D&D 5e 2014 Group type: Online Experience: Experienced DM looking for 1-2 experienced players to join ongoing campaign group, Location/Timezone: BST/UK (Discord/Owlbear Rodeo for combat VTT) Schedule: Saturday 4PM-8PM BST, weekly Roles sought: Players (1-2 slots available) Game style: Roleplay-heavy campaign play with challenging, tactical combat, across homebrew and published settings. The first campaign will be set in Avernus, following the Hellride, Archangel Zariel's crusade into the Nine Hells. Band of Brothers meets Doom!
ADVENTURERS WANTED!
I am looking for one or two experienced, committed players to join an ongoing group that has been playing together for over two years. I run campaigns across multiple genres and styles, but each one is designed to bring out the very best in roleplaying opportunities, challenging combat, unique experiences and memorable adventures. Expect plenty of homebrew content created with a keen understanding of 5e's mechanics and design principles, from one-of-a-kind deadly monsters to epically powerful and truly unique magic items. (no +1 swords here!) through complex and earnest original narratives. The group is well-established, but excited to play with newcomers as vacancies have opened up.
What we're looking for is players that love the drama and theatre of D&D as much as the tactical and mechanical side, as both play a prominent role in my games. Strong character concepts and performances are put at the heart of our games, so if you're the kind of player that's been waiting for a chance to truly flex your dramatic muscles, explore a profound themes or put your character through a nuanced, challenging and moving story, this is the group for you! Which isn't to say you can't expect some badass epic combat along the way, so sharpen those swords and start memorising that spell as my monster design is focused on creating dynamic, active and evocative battles.
Our end goal here to put together a regular weekly group to run through multiple campaigns, some inspired by the lore and settings of the D&D mythos and others that are wholly original. Our first campaign, Hellriders: The Fall of Zariel, will see players embark alongside a doomed angel on a crusade deep into the Hells and battle for their very souls, in an adventure that sets the stage for the events of Descent into Avernus and other iconic DnD stories. Beyond that, expect anything from cosmic horror to dark fantasy, as the whim takes us. Each campaign, you can be assured of an intense, carefully-crafted genre-led experience that will stick in the memory and fill many an afternoon with heroic deeds.
To run more of these games, we are seeking players that are:
Consistent and Committed- You can attend weekly sessions at a consistent arranged time, are prompt and prepared for the game and give as much notice as possible before cancelling a session. We accept that sometimes scheduling issues will arise unexpectedly, but ideally we'd like to keep the weekly games as consistent as possible. (note. We do not intend to run games if one or more players are not present, but will reschedule if possible)
Invested and Earnest- You are a player willing to put thought into your characters, embrace the drama of the game and take the shared storytelling seriously. Players willing to speak up in character often will fit right in here, and while 'doing the voice' is not a requirement, if you like to bring a touch of the theatrical to TTRPGs this is the table for it!
Mature and Respectful- You are a player that respects the others at the (virtual) table and the game itself. This is not the group for joke/meme characters or for anyone who's just turning up to ruin someone else's day, and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Similarly, our games often include intense conflict, horror elements and serious themes and we are looking for players willing to explore these with a suitable level of respect, maturity and investment in the storytelling.
If this sounds like you, and you're looking to join a serious, regular group that wants to really explore the storytelling potential of TTRPGs as a form of art and expression, please get in touch via PM here. The game itself will take place over Discord, and will be starting up as soon as we have sufficient players and have arranged a weekly schedule. We are looking to play in the UK afternoon/evening on Saturdays and our games typically run between 3 and 4 hours in length each session, so please keep that in mind when applying! Ideally, we are looking for experienced players, with at least some history with 5e or TTRPGs in general and a good understanding of the core systems and classes.
Please note this campaign and group will be playing the 2014 edition of 5e, and has no plans to use the 2024 rules refresh.
Hi, I'm aftaid we are looking for players with at least some experience, as our games can get quite mechanically complex and often start at high levels, so a good and practiced understanding of the game is required.
HI, I'm very interested in joining! I haven't played a game yet but I have the mechanics and understand the game very well, if I need to answer any questions or anything of the sort, please let me know! I have been learning DnD for almost 4 years now and just haven't an opportunity to play with anyone!
Hay, I just read through and the campaign sounds really exciting. As for as experience goes, I've been playing d&d for several years both as a player and as a dm. Would love to join this adventuring group.
