Hello! I’m a relatively new, 12 year old player that has gathered together a small online group of new players (half are on the west coast, half are on the east coast), but I’m not ready to be a dm yet. If anyone would like to dm for us that would be really nice and we’d probably be playing at this time on Fridays or Saturdays based on everyone’s availability:
Hi there! I am not a preteen by any means (I’m 21) but I am perfectly comfortable playing with beginners and younger players. I often play with my 14-year-old brother.
If your group is comfortable with an older DM, I could DM for you on Saturdays. Ideally it would start an hour earlier than you said, but it doesn’t need to change. I’m happy to chat here or on Discord (fiona11303).
But if an older DM makes anyone uncomfortable, please don’t worry about saying no.
I’ll ask the group how they feel about an older dm. If you want to change the time maybe we could compromise and have it start half an hour earlier or something like that.
I use Discord for voice calls, Roll20 or QuestPortal as a VTT, and D&D Beyond for character sheets, but if there’s a different preferred platform I am happy to check it out.
I typically go over my table rules in a Session 0, but I don’t have any that are too out of the ordinary. As for the campaign, I usually let the players choose from a few options that I have. But I can also take initiative on that and decide on my own. Some easy options for me would be Curse of Strahd, The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Rime of the Frostmaiden, and a Waterdeep adventure.
I’ve only ever done tier one play, but I really want to try tier two. Do any of those campaigns start around there? Also, I always roll for ability scores. Do you allow that in your campaigns?
Most of those campaigns start at Level 1 and go up to 8-12, I believe. Some may begin at Level 3. And yes, I usually have players roll for their ability scores.
Ok. Everyone is good with having you as a dm and the time stuff. I’ll add you into the ddb group chat thing on here and send you a friend request on discord. Thank you so much!
Quick question ,what will the tone of the campaign be and what are some of the characters the players have? Just asking to make sure things are clear and so that we don’t step on any player's toes.

Waiting on one more response
If you became the group’s dm, what would we play on (ddb, roll20, discord), what campaign would we be doing, and what rules do you have?
