About the Campaign

The party has been mysteriously drawn to the realm of Barovia which has claimed the lives of every adventurer that came before them. This realm is surrounded by deadly fog that cuts it off from the rest of the world and is filled with dark, dangerous creatures who are ruled over by an evil Vampire Lord. This evil Lord goes by the name of Count Strahd Von Zarovich and rules this plane of dread from his castle: Ravenloft. He will never stop when he wants something and will use any method to ensure he comes out on top.

This campaign is going to be a dark retelling of the classic gothic horror. I will be using very grim and dark themes to increase the stakes and horror of the campaign which will be gone over during session 0 for safety and comfort. As for combat I will be playing the NPCs and creatures tactically* and faithfully to their character (*that only applies to creatures that can think). As we play you will have a chance to RP with many different NPCs and creatures which will be voiced by me in a variety of different ways and accents. I am also a believer in the rule of cool so if you come up with something fun and interesting that slightly breaks the rules I will more than likely rule in favor of the player.

How I GM

I've enjoyed playing D&D for 13 years and I've been running games as a Dungeon Master for a little over 3 years. I run my games with heavy RP, Tactical Combat, and fun puzzles when they do appear. The most fulfilling thing for me is to write a story and build upon lore and information to give to my players. I like to have my campaigns stand out from the original module so I have added changes that were done by me and some that were suggested by other DM’s who wanted to spice things up. Upon request, I can homebrew a subclass, Race, or Magic item to help you feel more at place in my world. (Much like getting into a fine tailored suit.) I will be using a few homebrew rules to make gameplay more fun and streamlined which will be gone over during session 0.

 How to Prepare

All resources are provided by me through DnD beyond allowing for easy character creation and sheet management. The VTT we will be using is roll 20 where maps and music will be held. As for how we will communicate, We will be talking over Discord on my server (Earbuds/Earphones preferred and Video is optional). The Discord server and roll20 will be provided upon joining. During character creation players will get a free feat and we will roll for stats together rerolling 1's. I also love to help come up with a backstory with my players to help integrate their characters into the world whether at the start or over the course of the campaign.

Everyone is more than welcome to join a campaign of mine whether they are new players trying out the game for the first time or a veteran who is adding another campaign to their list of conquests. I will do my best to ensure you have a fantastic time playing in one of my groups. One of my policies is that I have an open door if you ever have a question or need help; I will always try to make time to answer you.

 Pricing

Currently I am charging $10 per game for a campaign through Startplaying (Pretty much a movie ticket for 4 hours of gameplay). With that said my session 0 is free. I use this pricing mostly as a deterrent for players to randomly drop the game and give both parties incentive and motivation to keep playing. If on the off chance you aren't able to make a payment I will discount it and try to be accommodating. After all, Life happens so I will do everything I can to make sure I do my best for you. When you are able to repay me I won’t ask for it in a lump sum but I will ask to have a tip added on every now and then until all is repaid.
