Synopsis: The Forgotten Realms teeter on the brink of darkness. From the alleys of Baldur’s Gate to the gleaming city of Elturel, rumors of undead armies and a fanatical cult dedicated to death spread like wildfire. The Deathsworn, followers of a powerful Lich King, are laying the groundwork for a sinister plan that could envelop the world in eternal night. As adventurers, you find yourselves thrust into the heart of this growing shadow. The choices you make will determine the course of the realms—will you seek out the hidden threats within Baldur’s Gate, defend the sacred city of Elturel, or delve into the depths of the Underdark to uncover dark secrets? Along the way, you’ll encounter allies and enemies, ancient mysteries, and powerful artifacts that could tip the balance in this struggle. The path is yours to choose. Will you confront the cult head-on, or seek out the Lich King’s weaknesses through the echoes of time? Your decisions will shape the fate of the realms, for better or worse. In the end, you must decide how to confront the ultimate evil—will you rally the forces of good, or face the darkness alone in the Shadowfell, where the lines between life and death blur? The Forgotten Realms stand at a crossroads, and your choices will determine whether the world is plunged into shadow or saved from destruction. Prepare to forge your own destiny in a world where every choice matters
Plan: This will be a continuous campaign that I look to develop over time with people coming and going through the story. The thought process is to start with 1 group of six meeting every other week, and eventually as the story develops, bringing in another group of six at a different time, with the two groups occasionally “Crossing Over” to further develop the story:
About me as a DM/GM: I have been Role playing in some form since 1990 and been DM/GMing, for over 20 years. I use most rules as guidelines and am only a stickler for a handful. While I don’t encourage arguing with the DM, I will allow people to make their case if they believe I have been unfair and will alter my decision if it makes sense to do so. While I am not actively trying to kill your characters, there is always the possibility that they could die. Sometimes the best strategy to survive is to run away and live to fight another day.
I am a story driven DM, I will lay the groundwork, and be the narrator, but what happens in the story will be up to players, player choice and action, will alter the story and impact future interactions. I have no problem with players joking and conversing among themselves as long as it doesn't take away from the game. I will redirect if I feel the side chatter is getting to be distracting to other players. With that being said I strongly encourage conversations between characters.
