Hi all, I'm looking for a Dungeon Master to run a campaign for my friends and I. There's five of us, and our experience breakdown consists of one absolutely new player, two advanced novices, and two proficient players.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (FoundryVTT or Roll20) Experience: 1 Absolute Beginner / 2 Advanced Beginners / 2 Proficient Players Location/Timezone: East Coast USA Schedule: Will have to be discussed further Roles sought: DM Game style: 50/50 Combat-Roleplay, Exploration, Puzzles, Immersion, Mystery.
For the sake of the newer players I suggest running a module, but I have no issue if you choose to do something homebrew, just try not to overwhelm the newbies with confusing house rules that may make the game difficult to learn. No preference on the actual campaign itself, could be a one-shot or a long term. We like a healthy blend of engaging roleplay, immersive environment exploration, strategic combat, and space to be creative (using out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems).
More details can be discussed over discord as I'll put us in a group chat so you can meet us all, and we can go from there. I look forward to speaking with you!
I'd be interested in DM'ing for your group. As a disclaimer, I am a relative newcomer to D&D. I've done a few in-person sessions before as a player and have a loose understanding of the 5e rules. However, I've done play-by-text (in Discord) roleplay games/story writing extensively in the past, both one-on-one and with a group.
If you're willing to put up with a first time DM and bear with me while I get in the swing of things, I'd love the opportunity to do a campaign!
