Game style: We like a nice balance of things. Heavy Roleplay elements are good from time to time but if you're just here for exposition you wouldn't be happy. I try to blend good story and roleplay with challenging combat and interesting encounters/exploration. We are all 30+ yr olds playing pretend so we prefer a more mature crowd.
About the DM: Hi there! I'm Puck and you should use they/them pronouns when referring to me! I'm 33 and been DMing for 5ish years now. I've been playing D&D for about 15 years now and got started with my roommates during the end of 3.5e beginning of 4e. I prefer roleplay driven by story and as a frame for the challenges faced along adventures. I love to set the mood, create exciting adventures, and turn the tables on new and unexpected ways. I'm never against my players. I'm rooting for you all to be the best and overcome the world! I think I'm a little too forgiving sometimes but trust me, you'll find plenty of challenges at my table! Right now I'm in a busier time in my life so I'm not able to take players to my homebrew world and instead we play using modules I modify slightly according to the amount for free time I have but one day I'll have the time to take a group back into my sandbox world!
Overall we are a group of queer nerds. We are at the end of module and adult life had two of our players stepping back for their own reasons. We probably have 6-8 weeks left of Descent into Avernus but the module is built for more than the three we have available. If we vibe and it's all good vibes you would be invited to join for the next campaign as well which will be Rime of the Frostmaiden.
-Before it is asked, we will not be rolling over to the new rulebook until we start the next campaign. That means we will be finishing Descent into Avernus before going to the 2024 PHB rules but we are all very excited to jump into the new stuff!
-Rules lawyers are not welcome at my table. I change how monsters abilities work because I have very experienced players and want to keep folks on their toes and not lean into meta-knowledge. We don't argue with DM rulings mid session. If you have an issue we can talk about it between sessions.
-Our main priority is about having fun but also consistently being present and engaged is a must!
-We are not looking to add any members under the age of 21. We are an older group of 25-40 year olds.
-We welcome everyone and strive to make our spaces inclusive!
-We won't tolerate any isms or hate in our space. (racism, fascism, sexism, etc.)
-We really welcome people's creativity. If you have an idea, let's make it work and build on it together to make a cool story as a group! I don't often allow a lot of homebrew in character creation as it tends to be unbalanced but things are often easily reflavored for much the same effect.
If you're interested in this group, please send me a private message with a little about yourself. Be sure to include your age, experience level, what you love most about D&D, as well as what excites you most that you read in this post and anything you want to share about yourself! We'd love to get to know you and get an idea of what uniqueness you bring to the table!
