Game: D&D (Heavily Homebrewed) Group type: Online Experience: Any experience accepted Location/Timezone: GMT+0 Schedule: Sessions take place on Saturday 2pm GMT, and last for 6 hours. Roles sought: Player (one player) Game style: 50% Roleplay, 50% Combat; with an emphasis on exploration, storytelling and preparation.
Hello all!
I’m currently seeking a 5th player to join our group of currently 4 players (+ me) for an upcoming D&D campaign. This campaign is a short adventure to test group dynamics, to check if you enjoy the group, the world and our system of play. But its main purpose is to find a good group who enjoys the experience to play a long term campaign.
About the Campaign Itself:
Setting All campaigns take place in the world of Gaias; a detailed world that I have created over many years, and still am creating and detailing to this day. It is a lower fantasy world compared to DnD’s original lores, where magic is more wondrous and dangerous.
I have a public LegendKeeper project where I’m slowly migrating all of my content related to both the world of Gaias and my compendium (see homebrew disclaimer below). Here is the link (LegendKeeper can be quite buggy when used as a public user)
Heavily Homebrewed Over several campaigns, I’ve heavily homebrewed the rules, reworked classes, and created new systems that have consistently enhanced our gameplay and allowed us to tackle or detail how to deal with situations the rules struggle to deal with (it’s almost like our own little system). Because of this, a basic understanding of D&D rules is required, and I’ll guide you through the changes slowly before and during gameplay.
Roleplay and Realism Focus We’re looking for someone who enjoys deep character immersion and collaborative storytelling. The ideal candidate will prioritize roleplay and is eager to dive into the world with a character of their own making. We tend to try to be realistic to keep the experience grounded, though within reason. Expect realistic and detailed exploration and preparation before combat, but a more cinematic focus during combat itself.
Disclaimer: Many of the stories told in Gaias tackle dark themes, as such you must be +18 to play. Explicitly sexual content is not used or allowed.
Session Details:
We play on Saturdays at 2 PM London time for about 6 hours (sometimes longer if the session is particularly engaging, though this is only if unanimously voluntary). We use Foundry for gameplay and Discord for voice chat. Additionally, LegendKeeper is used to automatically provide the players with notes and other helpful content which they can use between sessions to check any information they might need.
The first session (Session 0) will be on Saturday, 14th at 2 PM London time. This session will introduce the campaign, help with character creation, and set expectations for the group. I will help you through the whole process before and during session 0.
What I’m Looking For:
Roleplay Enthusiast: You should be someone who loves to get into character and immerse yourself in the world. Combat is frequent and part of the experience, but for the 5th slot, I’m looking for a player that enjoys roleplay to balance the group dynamic.
Committed: Consistency is key. We’re looking for a player who can commit to the schedule and take this campaign seriously. We respect that life happens, but frequent absences or lateness disrupt the experience for everyone and is not tolerated.
Team Player: Cooperation is crucial, both in and out of character. You should be ready to work together with the group.
Adult Players Only: You must be 18 years or older to join.
Specs: A good quality microphone and stable internet connection are mandatory.
How to Join:
Interested? To apply, please fill out a brief questionnaire below that will help me get to know you better and see if you’re a good fit for the group. This is a necessary step to ensure everyone’s needs are met (including yours should you join), and to tailor the experience accordingly. After submitting the questionnaire, you’ll receive a reply on Discord with further details. It may take one or two days for you to get a reply, depending on the volume of candidates I get.
I will be answering the applications and recruiting the player at 8pm GMT+0 tonight, at which point you'll be automatically invited to the campaign's Discord server.
Feel free to message me for any questions you might have if you are interested.
I did not expect the huge amount of submissions I got and definitely underestimated how many would be interested in joining. I leave this message to inform everyone that a player has been selected and player recruitment is now closed for the time being.
It was a struggle for me to choose amongst so many good, nice and interesting players; but I only had one spot and I had to pick someone. However, if you're still interested in joining at a future date should a spot come up, I invite you to message me on Discord (my discord is Artibold, no numbers) and I will add you to the server as an observer, and when a spot clears up in the future, I will inform everyone interested before searching elsewhere.
Thank you once again for your submissions and kindness!
