My current campaign is coming to an end tomorrow. It was an unforeseen, premature and sudden end, and I'm sad about it and very much need a break from DMing.
With that being said, I know I'll want to DM again. I'm very particular about my group though, as cohesion is so, so important. That's why this time around I'd be primarily looking for a pre-established group who has either played together before or who know each other outside of D&D but want to play together.
Like I said, I do need a break for a minute, but finding a suitable table can take time, so I figure why not put the feelers out there now and use the time to find the most compatible table possible, and see if we can establish a bond before we start playing?
I'd ideally be looking for a table aged 25+ (I'm 30). I am very serious about kindness and respecting all people - no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc., including "joking" language. My style, and the style I seek from my players, is first person RP and staying in character as much as possible, and the tone would be generally quite serious but of course with moments for laughter and goofing off a bit. I'd want players who remain positive even when things don't go to plan and who can make fun from "bad" situations - ideally, viewing the game not as win vs. lose or player vs. DM, but as all of us telling a story together, which will naturally include low moments and some failures. We would be utilizing Discord for microphones, game information, and optionally (preferred) webcams, and an online VTT with digital maps I make myself. There is more we can discuss down the road should we get to that point but I think that's enough for a sort of preliminary post like this.
Rough time slots would be EU morning-midday/AUS evening OR instead EU evening/NA morning-midday on either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, but if necessary - and for the right table - I'd consider playing on a weekend. Playing weekly is my preference with an occasional off week when I/we feel it's needed.
Feel free to reply to this or DM me with a bit of info about your group if you're interested and willing to wait/not looking to start immediately!
