Hello! My name is Ames (he/they). I’m a massive fan of dnd 5e with an interest in other ttrpgs (mostly to learn), and I’m looking for more games to join as a player!
About Me: I work in an office, and my pastime for the past ten years has been effectively dming 5e games, and it has been very much a great love of mine to partake in storytelling with a group. I’m a dedicated player who likes to deeply develop characters with detailed backstories, and I very much love to play characters that brings out the hidden Theater Kid™ energy that I didn’t realize I had until after college. I have no formal voice acting training, but I love doing voices and diving deep into world lore to help create and storytell.
Here is also more information about myself as a player, as I want to be on the same page as ya’ll. The way that I love to play dnd I know isn’t for everyone, and I want to be upfront with what I’m looking for so to not waste anyone’s time or energy. I simply hope to find some similar minded people who hopefully want to tell stories long term together!
Game: D&D 5e. I’m not fond of the newer class material from D&D 5.5, but I don’t mind the newer updates to spells and the like. (My issue is specifically with just the class material.) Group preferred: Specifically an online Group (Discord, Zoom, VTTs), no Westmarches please. I do not want to pay for games. Experience: I have 10 years of DMing experience specifically for 5e, but my experience expands outward further. I currently run two games and I’m fully participating in two games. I’m not rules heavy personally, and will only rules lawyer if it means not dying.
I’ve been off and on in the market of ttrpgs for a while, and have tested out White Wolf, D&D 3.5e and 4e, and a few others that I’ve forgotten the name of. I own several other titles, but never got to play them myself (so I’m cautious on running them). Location/Timezone: Currently, GMT-4 or EST. I live in the north east in the USA. Availability: Wednesday evenings, Friday midday or evenings, and Saturday midday. Preferred role: Player! Game style:Heavy Roleplay and Character Development focused. Combat is okay, but it’s definitely not my favorite part. Dungeon crawls can be fun and exciting if there’s world relevance and lore, but can otherwise feel like a slog. I am a lore lover personally, and very much enjoy exploration themes. Interested Themes: Western, Age of Piracy, Feudal Japan, Victorian period- Hit me with any historical fantasy tbh. That shit is fun and invites a fun character creation process. Gritty low magic fantasy.
I have a passing interest in: Cyberpunk 2077, Avatar, Fallout, Dragon Age, and Star Wars (mostly because I own the materials for most of these, either physically or digitally).
Worlds I’ve played in: Exandria, Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Ravnica, and Ravenloft
I think the only place I’m cautious on returning to is likely Ravenloft unless it has an interesting storybeat and has nothing to do with Strahd (as I’ve played that campaign 4 times).
As long as it has a realm of fantasy, or at least a factor of disbelief, I can be your guy! My Requirements: - LGBTQ+ and Neurodivergent friendly! I’m queer, nonbinary, and on the spectrum. - At least one queer and or female-identifying player in the group. Please. - A heads up when the session isn't gonna happen more than an hour in advance. - Open communication about Lines and Veils. While I’m personally very open with my lines and veils with minimal need for either, I want to be a part of a group that helps facilitate a safe space for everyone. - A group that matches the play style I'm interested in.
You’re free to contact me regarding questions or if you might be interested in adding me in the group. I would love to get to know the party as well before committing to the game in question, or at least given time to get to know them before officially popping in by vibing in the server.
