Location/Timezone: San Antonio, Tx, USA (Central US timezone)
Availability: Looking PRIMARILY for Friday/Saturday evenings Open to other times for a game that plays well
Preferred role: Player, naturally. Want to get back into the swing and be comfortable with the new rule set before I sit behind the screen again.
Game style: Story first. I enjoy role-play Need some combat, but in a game I'm enjoying I will work to finish combat as efficiently as possible so we can get back to the story! Most stories require conflict, so combat isn't inherently a downer.
History: I started playing in 1979 using the original AD&D PHB for the character who was running through adventures built using the Red Box. I don't remember how many rules sets I've used over the years. I can see at least 20 different game systems/versions on my shelves from where I'm sitting. Those are only the ones I still own.
Philosophy: I can fill nearly any role in a group, but am partial to playing everyman style characters, so, Fighters, Rogues, and Rangers are the most common. A major lesson I have learned is that everyone needs time to shine at the table, to feel important and like they are contributing. I now frequently sit back and encourage others to shine, until or unless they start to hog the spotlight and leave other players on the sideline.
