Our online group is looking for a new player or two, to join an ongoing homebrew campaign. Our current campaign has been running for just under 4 years, and our party has recently leveled up to level 15. We are looking for that special person (or persons) that fit into our kind of D&D niche.
Our style is very RP-heavy and story driven, with character growth being a prominent aspect of play. We definitely enjoy our combat encounters too, but we aren't the kind of group that requires combat every session (and sometimes can go many sessions without combat, depending on what our characters are getting up to).
We are (mostly) located in the United States and we play every Saturday evening starting @7 pm central time. A typical game will last between 4-5 hours. While we understand that life sometimes gets in the way (people get sick, the internet goes out, or that Random Thing throws a wrench at us), regular attendance is very important to us.
Our group currently consists of five adults (four players, one DM) and we are looking for someone who is at least in their mid to late 20's (or older), to maintain a common maturity. It is also important to note that we are LGBTQIA+ friendly and will not condone any sort of discrimination or hate. We are a very close group that care about each other in and out of the game.
Our ideal player is someone who enjoys creating stories with other people, developing characters and immersing themselves into the world. Prior TTRPG experience is not required, but we would hope a player joining us has at least been exposed to our kind of game (think Critical Role style RP) and has prior RP experience in some form.
We use a Discord server for calls, and Roll20 for our VTT, so any potential player will need to have both a discord and a Roll20 account.
We want to make sure any potential player is a good fit for us (and that we are a good fit for you) so there will be a bit of a process to joining. To start, please respond to this post with your interest. There will be a bit of a chat with the DM, (and if you've read this far and make it to the next step, be sure you tell our DM your worst nightmare is kobolds with slingshots. Extra brownie points) If it still sounds good there'll be a sort of meet-and-greet with the rest of the group, which is a chance to ask questions and everyone can get to know each other a bit. If we haven't scared you away after that, then we'd look at doing a sort of "guest appearance" in one of our sessions so you can get an idea of what we're like in-game, and we can get an idea of what you're like. Hopefully that all works out, and we're welcoming you to the game!
If all of that sounds like your kind of party please respond, to everyone else good luck in your future adventures.```
I am a beginner to DnD and definitely want to find a group that is close and loves the game. I know I can be a great fit for the group, but I just didn't know if the experience level was a hinderance!
Julian, 35. Looking to play the game after enjoying watching dimension 20 and playing divinity original sin 2. Have only played 5 sessions before. But the group broke up after dm moved back to home country. Live in Japan currently and your play time is mid day for me on on my days off
Hey! I'm interested in the game. Funnily enough, my Thursday campaign(I run) is exactly in your camp. Level 15, RP heavy, all that. Shoot me a DM, I'd definitely like to hear more.
Your campaign sounds like a dream come true. I currently play on a very small Westmarch server where the same people are frequently in sessions together, but getting people to role play is challenging. Joining a group that role plays would be a joy. Not to imply I don’t enjoy a good, tension-building combat.
I just finished a fairly extensive backstory for a rogue I hope to play at some point, but could work on another if a different class is needed. I have threads of backstories for a couple additional characters I could work on.
I‘m glad for your commitment to a non-discriminatory environment. Establishing a group where you are working from a basis of trust makes opening up to role play much easier.
