I am a GenXer (she/her) who's tired of trying to find a group to play in, as often age can be an issue during the selection process. Are you in a similar boat, perhaps? Grab a seat by my newly lit campfire and let us share a few tales of our adventures together. My preference is for other players 40+ years old, although I will not limit this category if you are a player willing to play with an (awesome) older crowd. I also want to learn the new D&D revisions, so please be patient as we can all learn together while playing the first part of a campaign: The Dragon of Icepeak Spire (modified to fit my little gothic heart).
Game: D&D 5e (2024) Group type: Online (using Discord, D&DBeyond, Theatre of the Mind) Experience: Any (Please note: I consider myself between a beginner and an intermediate DM.) Timezone: EST (North America) Schedule: 20:00 to 23:30 Fridays (weekly) Start date January 17/24 (that's 8 pm to 1130 pm) Roles sought: 5 Players, Currently Available: 5 Game style: Mixture of roleplaying and combat. Dark-ish theme. (Those interested, I will contact via D&DBeyond and send a Google Doc so I can match players as best as possible together.) Please be willing to play with a few game modifications. These are 1) no alignment, 2) cold and exhaustion applies (simplified), 3) the world grows with us as we discover it, and 4) soliloquies and intros will be part of the game.
Introduction:
He was looking at the painting. A winter scene with mountains in the back. A road, not so well-traveled. A caravan, of sorts. Moving through the snow. Wind. Blowing the capes and furs of the travelers. Snow. Falling in disarray. Obscuring the view. As if he was traveling with the caravan. And, the dragon. Barely noticeable, even though the painting itself was quite large. A dragon in the skies.
"An interesting piece, is it not?" a voice beckoned him back to reality. He turned to see his host walking towards him, elegant as always, with a glass of wine in each of his hands. He continues, "It is said to watch the work of this artist is to see what one wishes to feel, as if this event is truly happening. A world within a world." His host smiled and gave him a glass of wine.
"It invokes in me a last resort. The will to continue, without knowing the danger ahead," his host continued, pointing to the dragon, to ensure he had seen it. He took a sip of his wine. It had been warmed, and his body welcomed the warmth; as though, he was suddenly in the midst of this snowy terrain, feeling the bitter coldness.
"They say, you should know, that very few of these paintings remain. Masterfully done. A shame many are stored away for so few to look upon," his host added. "A Young Lady."
Silence between them settled for just a quick moment, when he looked at his host and repeated in a whisper, "a young lady", questioning.
His host looked at him, took another sip of wine, and then nodded. "A Young Lady. The Painter. Do you think this caravan of fools will survive anything as depicted? It would take quite the hardship to survive such conditions. True adventurers, so perhaps I could say. Though," he paused before he added, "so few exist among scores of soldiers, knights and nobles."
His host took his hand, and both looked at the painting again. He was glad to have his hand in his, as somehow it gave him comfort. He wondered to himself... what would truly happen to them.

Welcome to our own little Lands Between (Elden Ring), a world within a world, captured by The Painter (Dark Souls). Inspired by the game Elden Ring, I am bringing aspects of the video game to Dungeons & Dragons. This adventure module, called the Dragon of Icespire Peak, has been slightly modified to give off a darker background/setting; so immerse in, but you as players can be as jovial or dark (or both) as you would like.
We will be using and experimenting with the Revision Player's Handbook (2024).
------------------------------
We will begin an intro adventure, whereas each character, in some way or fashion, is part of the caravan in the painting (as the painting is your world as you know it). You can be a trader, a mercenary, a guard, or a refugee (or any ideas you might have). The local lore is that the southern garrison has fallen and the lands around have been ravaged and destroy. Many (including you as characters) have taken your chance to escape, heading to the foothills of the mountains to the north. The roads are dangerous, but nothing out of the ordinary, for folk used to living in the tundra, the snow, and the cold. A total of three yaks are part of the caravan, two individually pulling lodging and materials, while the one is carrying more needed supplies for the journey. Sixteen people of various species are among those fleeing, willing to give what silver pieces they have for protection.
Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm 32 (he/him), newer to playing DnD (however am familiar with it from an outside perspective), and I've been trying to find a group for a while now with little luck. I know I'm most of a decade under the suggested bar but your campaign sounds fun.
Hello JewelAngelic, my name is Todd I am level56 - DnD Experience is from the 80's and 90's and I am now getting back into it. I am myself getting up to speed with the new rules and core books. The concept of the campaign sounds cool and the vision including "Eldon Ring" has me anxious as I also game on the xbox and that game was formidable. :)
I would love to join as a rogue Drow elf orphan fleeing this tragedy looking for a place in this new world.
I am good with the schedule as Fridays are free and I too am in the EST (Akron/Canton OH)
I have recently joined D&D Beyond, but have 20+ years of game experience. I am available for that session time, and am flexible if we need more sessions. I would love to join in!
hey, im relatively new to dnd but i know how to play and what things mean, if youre still looking for players, im able on weekdays any time after 3:30 pm est
Hello there! I was wondering if you’re still looking for players; if so, I'm interested. I've been playing DND for the past 2 to 3 years now and have mostly been a player. I mostly have experience with 2014 rules but am not against trying 2024. I can tell you more about myself if it is needed via private message. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you have a great day.
