Title kinda says it, but I'll give you the run down. So had an idea for a main character for a book and thought I'd play him as a character first to flesh him out more.
Hes a Paladin who has saved the world, but nobody knows and what he sacrificed for them. In the final battle, he lost most of his friends, but he and the Wizard were left standing. In order to live though, the Paladin's goddess had to sacrifice herself to stop the villain. This left a vacuum of power and with no god to contain it, it risked becoming a new problem for the world. With his goddess gone, he had no magic left so the Wizard made the final sacrifice and rose to godhood. Unwilling to lose his last and dearest friend, the Paladin became a new follower of his friend and now sets off to find a new life after saving the world, but with only a fraction of his power due to the god being new.
