I just moved to Coastal Alabama, and I need to get a game going with my roommate. Either of us can DM unless you want to DM. We both love to play. We are willing to host and live on the Eastern Shore. We're looking for experienced (or passionate about learning) players. We play DnD 5e (2014 rules). Ideally we'd have a group of 4, but max 6.
Must be willing to meet in person.
Players must embrace all aspects of dnd (combat/role play/investigation). While combat is obviously a huge aspect of the game, we really appreciate players who flush out their characters with rich backstories and can lean into the role play elements. With that being said, we love combat, and while Min Maxing is okay, please don't try to "break the game". We all want to feel powerful and do amazing things, but dnd can be a game of chance where the dice often tell the story, and sometimes it's fun to fail. The story is what matters. It's not about winning the game, it's about enjoying the experience. As DM, we are objective facilitators who want to see you succeed. It's the monsters who want to kill your character, not us.
Players must be at least 21 and okay with being around alcohol, as we welcome drinking at the table so long as you're responsible.
We are LGBT+ friendly, and players must be as well. We don't mind fostering a raucous vulgar group, but we ask that everyone be respectful of each other. No hate speech. Player's comfort and safety are top priority. While we would ideally host a group who is very open minded when it comes to language, sex, and violence, we will definitely accommodate anyone's sensitive topics. Above all, dnd is supposed to be fun, and we want every to love what their doing. So please communicate one way or another. As hosts, we will also check in with the group.
Ideally we would meet once a week, open to more, but it is of utmost importance that players are committed to the campaign. While life happens, we need players who actively WANT to play and will commit to scheduling to the best of their ability.
We will mostly play published official modules/campaigns from DnD. I'm working on a homebrew which isn't ready yet, but would be lots of fun. My roommate has The Shattered Obilisk relatively prepped, and I could prep a different campaign.
Anyone who is interested, please message me here and tell me a bit about yourself and TTRPG experience. Then we can open correspondence, and if I feel like we're a good fit, we could meet for coffee to vibe face to face. Then we would probably host a one shot with the players to get a sense of everything at the table before starting a regular group.
If this sounds good to you, please reach out. IYKYK, dnd is so much fun and hard to get a group going, so let's make it happen!
