Years ago, in the pre-pandemic days, I ran a duet (one player, one DM) campaign with a close friend, using the 2014 5e rules to run the Pathfinder Kingmaker Adventure Path. We got through book 2 of 6. Stuff happened and we weren’t able to continue, but it was still the most fun I ever had playing Dungeons & Dragons up to that point, and maybe even to this day. Having just one character in the spotlight really let me make the story about them, and while we were still playing a pre-written story, I was able to work with it, and they got really emotionally invested.

I am looking to capture that magic again. I am seeking one, and only one player to take through the Kingmaker Adventure Path, converted by me to 2024 5e rules. I am looking for someone who is…

• 21+ (I am in my 30s myself, and ideally would have someone closer to my own age, but I won’t turn you away just because of this)
• LGBTQ+ friendly (as a queer person, this is a necessity)
• Able to work with the CST timezone (since it will just be the two of us, we have a lot of freedom with the schedule; when I did this before, we often played multiple times in a week)
• Okay using 2024 D&D 5e rules exclusively (I just really like the new rules, okay? I own the books and will be able to share the content)
• Not already familiar with the story of Kingmaker (I cannot stress this enough, I want you to be surprised by the story; it will rob my own enjoyment if you already knew something)
• Interested in the idea of building and managing a kingdom as part of their D&D experience (it will take a couple of levels to get there, so don’t worry about it too much just yet)

We would use Discord for voice and D&D Beyond for character sheets and maps. I will also maintain a wiki to help you keep track of the many NPCs, places, etc.
